Looks like my pastor is playing Angry Birds…
Any plans for a Houston blognic before you leave?
Looks like fun!
Fr. Z says: In other words: could they be driving people who want to use New Media to create content from, say, the Baltimore Catechism and Roman Catechism? The old Roman instead of the new translation of the Novus Ordo?
Oh, I’ll bet the thought of that might just have them re-thinking how to handle copyrights.
Uh-oh… it looks like someone has introduced the clergy to angry birds. Its all downhill from here, folks :-)
Are there any bishops there? Anyone with links to the Curia?
The digital revolution really needs to start moving up the ecclesiastical ladder.
Who appeared in the apparition? Inquiring minds want to know!
Wanda, It had to have been Steve Jobs who appeared…..
This is the first I’m hearing of Catholicon. Is it always in Houston, or might it migrate closer to the East Coast soon so I could attend?
Where are You In These Photos?
@Diane: don’t count on them rethinking copyright. The embedded cabal (OCP, LTP, etc on one side, the USCCB and ICEL on the other side) have a money machine going right now by maintaining their death grip on, and fanatical control over, the text and show tunes they push on parishes.
Imagine this: They hold the copyrights…but, the baltimore catechism (the text…the presentation can still be copyrighted, but the actual text can’t be due to its age…) as well as the Mass from, say, the 1900s (THAT text is a LOT older…) is out of copyright. Imagine a whole new generation, taught from the ancient, non controlled or manipulated for profit texts.
THAT is what the USCCB, ICEL, and the rest of the control freaks (mostly the aging boomer and professional protester school) are afraid of. As they should be. We’ve been asking for food, they’ve been handing us scorpions all these years. Well…time to do a bit of a turn around; I do notice that the orthodox folks take to the new media a lot more easily than the suprannuated progressives..;)
That photo of the priests ‘looking at an apparition’ is pretty funny! ‘Angry Birds’, did somebody say?
