The Catholic Herald on how to report on the Pope … NOT… (and a great deal on the digital edition)

Over at the UK’s best Catholic weekly, The Catholic Herald, there is some amusing but serious faux advice to secular journalists about how to report on the Pope.  Check it out!

Milo Yiannopoulos sheds some light on the arcane world of Catholicism, for the benefit of befuddled mainstream reporters

Also, there are only a few days left to make use of the super discount on an annual subscription to the digital version of The Catholic Herald.

Go HERE and use the promo code CHPROMO. This gives you the entire paper as it appears in the print edition, without waiting for the mail, and it gives you access to a vast archive of back issues.  The price will go up soon.   I am trying to get them to to set up a FATHERZ promo code, btw.. we shall see.  But get your digital edition now!  The offer ends at the end of the month.

Ugh, I finally subscribed to the digital edition, but I am not too impressed with how it is provided. It is not web-based, it is basically a photo of the page, read in a special reader provided by Exact Editions. The ability to enlarge the text is limited, and it is very hard on the eyes. Just a warning to those considering a digital subscription…maybe it is better on an iphone or tablet. All I can say is that I am glad I got it for the promo price!

  2. I, on the other hand, thinks it looks great. I find it pretty easy to read. And it is not “basically a photo of the page”.

I now have the app for viewing on iPod, and it looks good in the app…just poorly rendered via the site on a regular computer.

  4. I tried to use the promotional code intending to purchase gift subscription, but am informed that my basket is not eligible for it. Is the code something that only applies to subscribers from America or people who do not already have a subscription? When I got my own subscription, I used a code from this site, and it was fine.

  5. Oh, hang on. Nevermind. It’s the end of the month today here….

  6. Or rather the beginning of a new month….
