My good friend Fr B – whom I hope to see soon – sent notice of a gathering of priests and future priests in New Jersey. A group of diocesan priests got together with the mighty Fr Pasley of Mater Ecclesiae for sung vespers and dinner.
All via SMS and posted from my phone.
Ah the NEW MEDIA!
St Catherine Laboure, NJ if I’m not mistaken. I have had the pleasure of the EF mass a few times there with Fr Hesko. One of the few perks of visiting the In-Laws in NJ (just kidding in-laws.)
When I was in the college seminary, our rector was fond of suggesting that while past major renewals have come from the religious, that the next renewal/reformation would come from the diocesan priests.
Campello – “St Catherine Laboure, NJ if I’m not mistaken.”
Excellent! Near my old neighborhood. I’ve read that they did a nice job with the expansion there.
Cool photo, and I shall pray for all these men today in a special way. Thanks for sharing. I think one of my jobs is to pray for priests, transitional deacons, and sems. I met three newly ordained transitional deacons here yesterday, all charming and enthusiastic young men. God bless all of you.
St Catherine Laboure RC Parish in North Middletown (Keansburg), NJ. A mighty and uplifting example of solid Roman Catholic orthodoxy. May Our Lord grant Fr. Hesko many more years of providing for his flock and the NJ Shore EF community! His masses, EF & NO, are edifying, holy and grace-filled.
Are they all diocesan, or is one of them FSSP?
Great photo!
Is sung Vespers closed to the public? If not, when are they sung? I would like to attend.
My home parish! Thank you for posting this.
Fr. Pasley is also the Chaplain for the Church Music Association of America. (Rightfully and playfully, he calls his connection with the organization “a hobby,” but his insights are a tremendous help.) I have met him at a couple of events in the 12 months. He is definitely a “Brick by Brick” clergyman.
Middletown, NJ!
My hometown. Also the final resting place of Vince Lombardi, and my Father.
Requiéscant in pace.
Semper Fi!
@ jarhead462 – Yes! I’ve been past Lombardi’s grave a number of times, right there in the old section of Mt. Olivet.
I didn’t realize you were from Middletown, too.
