Salutationes omnibus.
Thank you for this small but important object lesson. I have been trying to galvanize men (sorry, but there is a need to men, not women to lead this charge) into changing policies in dioceses regarding the TLM. I highly suggest those with the financial means to pay for the use of chapels and even to import priests. Of course, one must have the permission of the local ordinary. It is amazing how little is being done to push the 2007 Summorum Poontificum in some areas. In some dioceses, there are no TLMs still. Only very few are working to fix this. I do what I can and we all should DO something.
We must all do something and not permit ourselve to become discouraged. I think “brick by brick” is very much in line with the spirituality of Ste Therese — we needn’t be overwhelmed by all that ought to be but isn’t, but to content ourselves by taking even the little steps that we can, however humble, and exercise our trust in God to complete His work. e.g., In a parish without the EF, working to get the flowers cleared off the altar rails so that they may be used again, and encouraging CCD students to receive kneeling and on the tongue at a specific Mass, are small steps that can lead toward its eventual restoration. (how many of us who are graced with the gift of orthodoxy and love of Tradition volunteer to teach CCD?)
One little bag of “Let it Snow” and one little bag of “The Holly and the Ivy” in my big tea cup- let it brew for 4 minutes, add milk and sugar- My Christmas Eve is set.
