“He [Satan] will set up a counter-Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. In desperate need for God, whom he nevertheless refuses to adore, modern man in his loneliness and frustration will hunger more and more for membership in a community that will give him enlargement of purpose, but at the cost of losing himself in some vague collectivity.”
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops.”
- Fulton Sheen

PLEASE subscribe via PayPal if it is useful. Zelle and Wise are better, but PayPal is convenient.
A monthly subscription donation means I have steady income I can plan on. I put you my list of benefactors for whom I pray and for whom I often say Holy Mass.
In view of the rapidly changing challenges I now face, I would like to add more $10/month subscribers. Will you please help?
For a one time donation...
"But if, in any layman who is indeed imbued with literature, ignorance of the Latin language, which we can truly call the 'catholic' language, indicates a certain sluggishness in his love toward the Church, how much more fitting it is that each and every cleric should be adequately practiced and skilled in that language!" - Pius XI
"Let us realize that this remark of Cicero (Brutus 37, 140) can be in a certain way referred to [young lay people]: 'It is not so much a matter of distinction to know Latin as it is disgraceful not to know it.'" - St. John Paul II
Grant unto thy Church, we beseech Thee, O merciful God, that She, being gathered together by the Holy Ghost, may be in no wise troubled by attack from her foes. O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified, mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people making supplication unto Thee, and turn away the scourges of Thine anger which we deserve for our sins. Almighty and Everlasting God, in whose Hand are the power and the government of every realm: look down upon and help the Christian people that the heathen nations who trust in the fierceness of their own might may be crushed by the power of thine Arm. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. R. Amen.

I am an Iowan and I may caucus tonight(if I can find a babysitter). I am looking foward to a few months without political commercials and a mailbox full of flyers each day!
Not in Iowa but will be watching. Find it very interesting.
I imagine the barrage of commercials and phone calls would make just about anyone buggy after a while.
I will be caucusing tonight. I think that it’s vital to Iowa’s political life. Delegates are elected, so are the county central committee. Also, the presidential poll, but that isn’t the most important aspect, except for the media.
I have, however, vetted the candidates and am down to two. Newt or Santorum. I will make my decision at 7pm CST and then I will continue to watch to see how they go.
All of that and it is a lot of fun….
I have been in the past a caucus rep and I am paying attention. Politics is the sport of choice for most Iowans.
I am in Iowa on Christmas vacation with my family – flying back to New York tonight. My mother is planning to go to the caucus, don’t know about Dad yet He’s not a joiner, but she may persuade him. They’re leaning toward Santorum.
Yes, their phone is constantly ringing with political calls. I’m surprised they haven’t been door to door.

I will caucus tonight. I don’t have a landline and don’t watch much TV, so I’ve mostly avoided the circus.
My husband is going to go, but I just can’t bring my self to vote for any of the candidates. I will be sitting this one out.
@ susanmk – I’ve heard a few people say that, but haven’t heard why…I’m just curious, and would be interested to know!
My wife and I are preparing to go to the Republican Caucas. I will vote for Santorum. My wife is still divided between Santorum and Perry. Caucuses are painful. They are crowded, hot and windy (many speeches). Additionally, we have our local party elections prior to voting. Despite the fact that the caucuses are a pain (give me primaries anytime), we feel obligated to participate. Why do I still hear The Who screaming “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss” ? Oh well, it has been said that we aren’t called to be successful, just faithful.
For those interested but not near a tv there is an Iowa caucus app(free) for your i phone that will report the votes county by county or by candidate.
Thanks for mentioning the app, I’m following it on FNC but I’ll download the app too.
… and they’re off and running …
11/12 will be difficult for the fractured Republican side to stand against uncontested glitterati with allurements of evil side.
Yep, and we even managed to bring our 18 month old (and 5 month gestating) along. We’re voting for Newt – he has experience, he is a Ctholic convert, and frankly Santorum rubs me the wrong way (not to mention that the lack of tact he uses discussing “gay marriage” has already caused a lot of blowback. There is a time, a place, and a way). I wouldn’t be particularly upset if he got the nod, but I really think Newt has the best chance of making a difference, and it would be a great rebuttal against the negative campaign axis of Romney/Paul.
So a break from the commercials for a few months, at least…
Just moved to Iowa and went to our first Caucus tonight! It was quite the experience especially with all the talk s and an 8 month old who did AMAZING but was woefully tired. Michelle Bachmann’s husband was there speaking on her behalf and I think he was easily the most polished and engaging speaker. Seems like the majority of support there was for Ron Paul (His daughter spoke), Romney, and Santorum. We voted Santorum!
