The sound of sawing fills the air. Those high in the branches of the tree who hate the tree (or don’t even believe in trees!) are sawing off the branch they are sitting on. The dignity of person flows from Christ and even in its most attenuated and watered-down forms permeates the whole democratic world even in such non-Christian nations as Japan, India. An orgy of depersonalized rutting is at the heart of the ‘gay life style’. No one is stopping it. It is even being taught to school children as a viable and respected ‘way’. It flaunts itself outrageously in parades in every major city in this country. It’s message permeates the media. Not enough. It must destroy, deform and pervert Christianity or it will never really be ‘comfortable’ about itself. And if we don’t go along we are full of ‘hate’.
And as for Obama, his next “evolution?” Out of office, I hope.

If you’re referring to a flat earth, that notion is certainly gone long before Middles Ages.
Re the geocentric or heliocentric universe: Your understanding seems to be based on the concept of absolute place, which didn’t exist in the High Middle Ages. It comes later.
“Begging the question” is arguing in a circle, not “suggesting other questions”, as the good cardinal implies. I wish people could get this one right.

I always cringe when someone on my side of the issue uses this expression in the wrong way – and it happens a lot.
The notion that the ‘sun revolves around the earth’ might actually be theoretically true, though more accurately it’s that the entire universe revolves with the earth positioned in the center and taking the sun and stars and other bodies with it. Heliocentrism and Geocentrism are ideally coordinate systems that both work.
As for Evolution, it depends on what you are referring to… changes on the micro and horizontal level (fact), changes on the macro, downward vertical level towards less complexity(also supported but to an extent), or changes on the macro upward vertical level towards greater complexity (unproven, demonstrably false). The latter is the topic most associate with evolution. The idea of matter existing from nothing, biological matter arising from non living rocks, forming simple cells, forming fish, then amphibians then mammals then modern day man, is absurd and unscientific. But it is the popular accepted myth and heresy of our times and thus forms the platform of the modernist mindset who seek to evolve and constantly change under the impression that every change is an improvement and inevitable progress.
Anyway, we get where Card. Napier is coming from, but this is hardly a strong rebuttal of the President. It’s more beneficial to inform him that the Golden Rule includes preventing people from sinning, from becoming slaves of sex and going to hell. But I doubt the President believes in any of those things either. I doubt Obama believes in Christ at all. Those are just placating words he’s tossing out to play both sides of the fence.
If the bishops don’t start teaching what proper Catholicism and Christianity is, then you bet that Obama and Pelosi and Sebelius will freely teach everyone what they think it is. And quite honestly, I doubt they are ignorant or mistaken. They are being devious liars. This is all strategic lying to pepper their words with religious phrases so they can get the support of the religious who are actually mistaken and ignorant.
