Getting ready for the FLOOD in Blackfen (“fen” means “swamp”, right?)

Typical Sunday at mighty Blackfen where His Hermeneuticalness, Fr. Tim Finigan, with the help of Mulier Fortis, are getting ready for the flood.

    Fr. Lombardi is saying that as today was a Feast in the Vatican there are very few people available to comment on this unexpected event.

    No one has driven anyone out of office, the Holy Father has cited his age and declining health that has occured in the past few months. God bless Benedict XVI.

    Awful news, but I almost think its better than having another JPII(not that he was a bad pope or anything

    When he says (as quoted in the BBC news item) “both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognise my incapacity to adequately fulfil the ministry entrusted to me” this could be gently preparing for more saddening news – but need not: let us hope that, his body less taxed, it may sustain him in long continuing to exercise his evident strength of mind with a prudent discretion beyond what his Pontifical responsibilities allow.
