Oh no! Sickness is not fun. We will pray for your intentions in our rosary in a few minutes. May I ask for prayers for my eldest? She has been sick since a mission trip to Central America–8 weeks ago! Please pray that she can make it through her finals (and keep her scholarship.)
From bronchitis to crud. Not good.
On it Boss !
Must be leftover bronchitis. Be thankful it doesn’t morph into wheezing. That’s not fun.
Rest and pray!
Prayers going your way, Fr. Z.
Sorry to hear this.
Flight to Boston and return … sitting in a tub full of germs.
Chest X ray?
Sending prayers your way!
I’ll pray for you Father, but also strongly advise you to at least call your doctor. Fever following bronchitis does entail that he or she knows.
I’m sorry you’re not feeling well Fr. Will definitely add you to my prayers.
Ugh is indeed the word. So sorry. Prayers on the way– I’ll be off to daily Mass soon. And let me echo Granny (and I’m guessing every mom on the list is thinking it even if they aren’t typing it) in saying PLEASE check in with the doctor. Heaven forbid your last bout should morph into pneumonia…
Prayers for you, dear Fr! I second the recommendation to visit your physician, NOW! I’m sure your mother has told you the same thing. ;-)
Father Z.: Prayers.
We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
You are in my prayers Fr. Z. I hope your doctor will order an x-ray to rule out pneumonia. If it is, Biaxen is the best antibiotic for it. I recently had it and the Leviquin stopped working after the 3rd day.
Get well dear Father Z! My prayers are offered for you too.
Prayers of course, but also some advice?
Stay off airplanes! Really. They make you sick, all those hours of recycled air inside a pressurized aluminum tube at 36,000 feet?! Any latent virus you have will also come out to play, and respiratory illnesses get 100x worse.
Trust me. Avoid airplanes for a good month after a bout of anything.
Praying for you Fr. Z.
You seem to get sick a lot. Every month or so, you say you’re ill.
You need some hot whiskey whenever you’re starting to feel something coming on, and kill it dead!
(Hope you get well soon…)
[I’ve enjoyed pretty good health for a long time, but lately, yes, I seem to be ill more often. I hope this doesn’t indicate a trend.]
I’m sorry, Father. It sounds really bad. We will be praying and I hope that you are able to get some help from the doctor. Hang in there. God bless you!
Praying for you Father.
Father Z, your frequent airplane travel and its bad “air” could be a reason for your frequent illnesses. Get up to northern MN and Lake Superior soon for some fresh air and relaxation.
Prayers on the way.
I second the whiskey and honey advice. I personally would mix them in a large mug with some hot tea and get some sleep. God created booze for a reason. God be with you Father.
As a mom and grandmother, I second what everyone else has said. Glad you went to the doc. I will add a guess that your immune system has been worked overtime lately and also hope you can stay off those germiferous airplanes for a while. Drink a lot and get some rest. We can wait.
Get well soon, Father!
Done. Drink plenty of water and get lots of rest.
Glad to hear your lungs are clear, Fr. Hopefully the fever will stay away for good. Please don’t over-do and get some rest. Prayers being said.
Make sure you are up to date on all your preventative/routine screenings and vaccinations and get an annual physical. Most insurance carriers will cover these with no patient out of pocket expense.
Fr. Z, I agree with Acardnal. I know of several people who travel quite a bit and they usually get sick. Zinc and echinacea lozenges might help with cutting down on the colds and flu. It has been working pretty good for me this year. Please take care. I will send prayers your way. God Bless.
Prayers – still. You were sick recently, also? Immune system taxed? Too busy? Maybe a little West and Welaxation would help?
Father:
Maybe you need a REAL vacation.
You travel but it does not seem to include rest.
Do you take vitamins?
Keep your head and feet warm?
There does seem to be a lot of flus (sp?) (flues?) going around. Maybe that’s all it is.
In travel one meets bugs that we are not immune to.
Prayers for your health.
Prayers of course, Father.
Best remedy tips: echinacea drops every day for 2 weeks. Alternate 2 weeks on/2 weeks off the drops. This, along with plenty of blueberries, cranberries, and other antioxidants. Don’t forget to use lots of fresh garlic (or garlic pills if you aren’t feeling up to cooking). Lastly, have someone run to the store and get you some Emergen-C packets. They work really well.

“You seem to get sick a lot. Every month or so, you say you’re ill.”
I had to smile when I read that comment. There’s a funny commercial on TV where this big hulking fellow comes down with a cold and looking at his wife says, with his last breath, “could you call my mom, please?” And the dutiful wife throws him a cough bottle saying un-sympathetically, “it’s only a cold.”
Prayers coming your way, Fr. Z.
You need some of this: http://www.cukierski.net/collections/all/products/immune-booster#.UYlXyMrmAmU It’s a natural Immune booster and seems to really work. Sold by a solid Catholic family so win-win!
That sounds a lot like what I’ve got right now! I woke up this morning with a fever of 100.7! Hoping I can shake this fast! I’m supposed to fill in at a friend’s parish this weekend!
