One of you kind readers has helped me start the New Year on an upbeat.

Here is a translation of the now widespread Internet Prayer in

The fellow who sent the recording wrote, saying:

Please pray for this family with me – they have been away from “home” (Syria – Damascus, then the Wadi al Nusra, or the Christian Valley) for 2.5 years now since the war has been raging.

And also a version in…

TELUGU (spoken in S.E. India):

I look forward to having recordings of both of these.

Also, I really do want to have an updated and corrected version in KLINGON.

When sending a new version, please send the TITLE and also a RECORDING by a native speaker of the language. It would be good also to run it by a Catholic priest of that language, to make sure that the idiom is correct.

Drat! All 35 of the Klingon seminarians who were staying here had to return home to Qo’noS for Christmas celebrations, which include the burning the Yule rock and playing Swords for Bethlehem, as well as eating roasted K’Vort (a large green bird of prey for which their ships were subsequently named).

I’m sure one of them would have been happy to translate the Internet Prayer — in fact, given their legendary irascible nature, Klingons probably have one of their own. But they seldom use the internet, since what they read there so infuriates them that most of them, even the saintly ones, have smashed their computer monitors. And cell phone coverage is spotty.

I know, I know. Pretty frustrating.

I like St. Isidore (San Isidro) for internet patron, something productive for the Holy See to consider in 2018. The Basilica of San Isidro Labrador in Madrid ( ) could become a pilgrimage site for geeks. Getting Father’s Prayer approved is a very good start in the right direction. Thoughts?
