“He [Satan] will set up a counter-Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. In desperate need for God, whom he nevertheless refuses to adore, modern man in his loneliness and frustration will hunger more and more for membership in a community that will give him enlargement of purpose, but at the cost of losing himself in some vague collectivity.”
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops.”
- Fulton Sheen

A monthly subscription donation means I have steady income I can plan on. I put you my list of benefactors for whom I pray and for whom I often say Holy Mass.
In view of the rapidly changing challenges I now face, I would like to add more $10/month subscribers. Will you please help?

"But if, in any layman who is indeed imbued with literature, ignorance of the Latin language, which we can truly call the 'catholic' language, indicates a certain sluggishness in his love toward the Church, how much more fitting it is that each and every cleric should be adequately practiced and skilled in that language!" - Pius XI
"Let us realize that this remark of Cicero (Brutus 37, 140) can be in a certain way referred to [young lay people]: 'It is not so much a matter of distinction to know Latin as it is disgraceful not to know it.'" - St. John Paul II
Grant unto thy Church, we beseech Thee, O merciful God, that She, being gathered together by the Holy Ghost, may be in no wise troubled by attack from her foes. O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified, mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people making supplication unto Thee, and turn away the scourges of Thine anger which we deserve for our sins. Almighty and Everlasting God, in whose Hand are the power and the government of every realm: look down upon and help the Christian people that the heathen nations who trust in the fierceness of their own might may be crushed by the power of thine Arm. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. R. Amen.

On Pentecost Sunday, the first child of my closest friend and his wife was born, a daughter named Chloe Marie. It is such a blessing, especially after their apartment flooded in hurricane Harvey (costing them many of their possessions, including irreplaceable ones) just a few months after they were married.
My youngest son is engaged to a wonderful traditional Catholic woman. I am very happy for him. God has blessed our family.
Having relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area to southern Florida 143 Sundays ago, I have been liturgically malnourished.
The nearest traditional Mass to where I live is in Miami, over 100 miles and 2 to 2.5 hours away (one way). The other nearest opportunities range from 143 to 225 miles away. So prior to this past Sunday I had only attended the Traditional Mass about four times over these past 143 Sundays. This past weekend I made a pilgrimage to Sarasota, FL (313 miles away) as a 72nd birthday gift to myself. There I attended a traditional High Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church. I had a glorious day and I felt ready to die without being given any notice. Now that’s the best feeling anyone could possibly have. That gift (being blessed to participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the traditional form) was my best birthday present ever. I wish the same for everyone.
I had the privilege to recently attend three concerts of outstanding sacred music: (1) Dr. Peter Kwasniewski’s polyphonic Mass; (2) pieces by longtime Sistine Chapel Maestro Lorenzo Perosi; and (3) the Bach b-minor Mass. The Bach is too lengthy to be used in an actual liturgy these days, which is most unfortunate.
My son’s viral meningitis is gone with no apparent after effects.
Thanks to the wonders of Catholic medicine (Napro) my husband and I are expecting our first child this side of heaven (I miscarried our first in February) on January 1. Deo gratias!
We (USA) were in charge of the Marian Procession at this year’s International Military Pilgrimage (PMI) to Lourdes. The weather forecast (& our USAF meteorologist) gave a certain prediction there would be moderate rainfall throughout, which would have really made it a disappointing & unpleasant experience for the 18K pilgrims who processed with candles, plus all the musicians assembled in front of the Rosary Basilica.
We started calling all the delegations to help us pray away the bad weather and specifically asked Saint Medard (found on Google) to intervene/stop the rain. We paid him in advance w/ a Rosary… not only did it NOT rain, but we (USAF meteo guy too) were amazed to see the skies clear, stars appear, & a perfect moon to hand over the steeple…. & no wind (good for candle light processions). THANK YOU St Medard. NOTRE DAME DE LOURDES IS A GREAT MOM!!!

God reigns and the Son shines!
My brand new goddaughter went home from the NICU.
Our Bishop is going to say a pontifical Mass and lead our Corpus Christi procession on Sunday.
The high fevers of two of my boys has broken and we seem to be fever free!
After a trepidatious search and enrollment process, I ended up loving my freshman year of college. I found a cheap, secular state school with top notch faculty/programs AND a vibrant but small Catholic community staffed by FOCUS missionaries. Our chaplain is a closeted traditionalist, wearied day by day by our liberal neighboring and host parish. I have been able to help convince him to restore the sacred and implement his vision of a true sense of the necessity of a good devotional life. Next year, we will celebrate the OF ad orientem on a regular basis, and introduce the EF in an organic way. As our Genial Host would say, we are rebuilding what was destroyed, brick by brick.
Today I went to Eucharistic Adoration, Confession & Mass!
I attended the Archdiocese of New York’s Priesthood Ordinations last week. They were blessed with nine new priests! [five for the Archdiocese and four for the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal].
Blessed be God!
