Wherein Fr. Z responds to the rude attack from Beans – @MassimoFaggioli – on @BishopHying of @MadisonDiocese

I believe that my best public response to Massimo “Beans” Faggioli’s vicious attack on Bp. Hying of Madison, is to say Holy Mass for his intention tomorrow, a 1st Saturday.

Beans posted this on Twitter.  For those of you who are blocked by Beans (as he has blocked me) click HERE for an image of the tweets.

What Beans inspired by his attack on the Bishop was a chain of amazingly uninformed and mean-spirited tweets.   Pretty sad, even attacking the parents and children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

That was his objective, of course.

Neither I nor Bp. Hying nor the wonderful people who happily participated in the sacred rite, entirely legitimate and in keeping with the Church’s laws and heart, deserved Faggioli’s rudeness.

Therefore, tomorrow, 5 September 2020, at NOON CDT, I will say Holy Mass for Beans’ intention, and for his family.   I will add prayers for “the gift of tears… compunction of heart”.

Yes, it will be the Traditional Latin Mass which Beans so unjustly and rigidly reviles.

May Our Blessed Mother ask God the Holy Spirit to speak to Massimo’s heart.

Flecte quod est rigidum,
fove quod est frigidum,
rege quod est devium.

Jesuit Thomas Reese says “Vote for Biden”. So what if Biden promotes abortion and sodomy?

From Breitbart:

Jesuit Priest Thomas Reese Stumps for ‘Catholics for Biden’

Prominent Jesuit Father Thomas Reese has taken to Twitter to promote the national kick-off of Catholics for Biden, a “grassroots” group promoting the Democrat ticket in November.

The virtual launch of Catholics for Biden will take place Friday, September 4 and will feature prominent progressive Catholics such as Senator Dick Durbin, Sister Simone Campbell, Dr. Stephen Schneck, Dr. Polly Baca, Felice Gorordo, Tim Shriver Jr., Ana Sofia Pelaez, Peter Kellner, and others.

The event aims to help participants “engage Catholic voters” and whip up enthusiasm for the Biden-Harris ticket.

Last Thursday, Father Reese published an essay insisting that it is acceptable for Catholics to vote for Catholic candidates who openly support abortion on demand[B as in B. S as in S.]

The former editor-in-chief of America magazine declared that “a Catholic Democrat can vote for Biden, even if his policies promote abortions and gay marriage, as long as the voter’s intent is not to support those positions.”

“A Catholic Democrat might feel impelled to vote for Biden despite his position on abortion and gay marriage because of other morally grave reasons, for example, his positions on racism, immigration, global warming and COVID-19,” Reese argued.

Father Reese confessed that “most Catholic Democrats agree with Biden that abortion should be legal” anyway, which removes any moral obstacle for supporting him. [?!?!?]

In their teaching document on the political responsibility of Catholics called Faithful Citizenship, the U.S. bishops underscore the gravity of abortion, which they describe as the “preeminent” issue for Catholic voters.

Thomas Reese, ladies and gentlemen!

UPDATE – Fr. Paul Mankowski, SJ – R.I.P.

UPDATE 3 Sept 202 15:12 CDT

I checked the page of the Midwest Province of the Jesuits.   Fr. Mankowski did pass away.

HERE

The family says that he died at 1PM CDT.  In other words, just minutes after I finished saying Mass for him.

The Postcommunio of the Mass “for the sick, close to death” (Pro infirmo qui proximus est morti) says:

Quaesumus clementiam tuam, omnipotens Deus, ut per huius virtutem sacramenti famulum tuum gratia tua confirmare digneris: ut in hora mortis eius non praevaleat contra eum adversarius; sed cum Angelis tuis transitum habere mereatur ad vitam.

We beseech your mercy, Almighty God, that you might deign by your grace to strengthen your servant though the might of this sacrament: so that in the hour of his death, the Adversary will not prevail against him; but rather that he will with your Angels merit to have his crossing over into life.

A few minutes after I prayer that at Mass, Fr. Mankowski had his crossing.

A fine priest and great scholar, a true Jesuit, Fr. Paul Mankowski, SJ, has died of a brain aneurysm….  is still alive.

I was hearing conflicting reports, so I called the Midwest Province of the Jesuits and got the straight information.  Father had a brain aneurysm.  He is, as I write, on life support and the prognosis is effectively without question.  While we never rule out God’s intervening hand, we have to prepare for bad news pretty soon.

This means that he can receive the Sacrament of Anointing – Extreme Unction – and the Apostolic Pardon.   That… my friends… is grace.

A subitanea et improvisa morte, libera nos Domine!

I will celebrate Holy Mass today, Thursday 3 Sept, for Fr. Mankowski using the form Pro Infirmo qui proximus est morti.

I am so sorry about his all-too-soon – foreseeable – death. Fr. Mankowski was – is – an unreal scholar. As a matter of fact, he contributed an important essay to the important book   Remaining in the Truth of Christ: Marriage and Communion in the Catholic Church – US HERE – UK HERE.  This is one of the best defense of marriage there is.

Here is a video from February of Fr. Mankowski.

UPDATE:

Fr. Mankowski wrote a review of James Martin’s pro-homosexual book.  HERE

In his usual razor style, Paul cut to the chase in the first line:

Is sodomy a sin? Perplexed readers of Fr. James Martin, S.J.’s latest book will want to put the question to him, if only to understand why he felt it important to write at all.

St. Joseph, Patron against Communism, PRAY FOR US!

I received this image of St. Joseph today via snail mail from a reader.

It seems appropriate in this time of BLM and Dems running for office and Antifa.

75th Anniversary of the end of WWII

Today, 75 years ago… 2 September 1945 – representatives of the Empire of Japan formally signed instruments of surrender on the deck of USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

WWII ended formally.  2194 days after Germany invaded Poland on 1 September 1939 to 2 September 1945. 6 years and 1 day.

Celebrations at the time must have been amazing.  I like this photo of the mostly peaceful conga line in Lafayette Park near the White House!

On Twitter @JamesMartinSJ attacks a Bishop for pointing out the OBVIOUS about pro-abortion ‘c’atholic politicians… blocks response

Jesuit homosexualist activist James Martin, who promoted his agenda by consorting with the Party of Death at the DNC, has on Twitter attacked a Catholic Bishop, Most Rev. Richard Stika.

Stika expressed what every properly formed and oriented Catholic would: he doesn’t understand how someone who is rigorously, openly, actively pro-abortion can call himself a “faithful Catholic”.

Former VP Joe Biden, now presidential candidate, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi are both known Catholics who relentlessly promote abortion.

Their words about their faith are empty in the face of their actions.

Stika underscored this. Jesuit Martin attacked.

Martin thinks that, just because one claims to profess what the Apostles Creed states, claims to profess certain other dogmas of the Church, that, therefore, one is without question a faithful Catholic, no matter what he or she has been doing for years to promote the extermination of the unborn, especially through collaboration with Big Business Abortion, which also means a racist agenda.

Even demons believe the content of the Apostles Creed and what the Church teaches.  They hate that content, but they know it and believe it.  And – coincidentally – demons also work for the murder of the unborn and strive to promote racism.

Martin posted on Twitter, and then blocked responses.   Let’s see what he wrote and what I tried to post.

What I would have replied:

How many same-sex “marriages” has devout ‘c’atholic Biden officiated at by now?  More than one?  You would know.

Could this be the reason why Martin sticks up for Biden?

Because of his support for Martin’s pro-sodomy agenda?

Because public support of Biden, even to the point of attacking a bishop, might draw attention and future consideration by a new administration?

UPDATE:

Already a follow up to James Martin, SJ and his attack on Bp. Stika.

Catechism of the Catholic Church

1867 The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are “sins that cry to heaven”: the blood of Abel, the sin of the Sodomites, the cry of the people oppressed in Egypt, the cry of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan, injustice to the wage earner.

Four Sins that Cry to Heaven for Vengeance.

  • The “blood of Abel”: homicide, abortion, infanticide, fratricide, patricide, and matricide
  • The “sin of the Sodomites”: Non procreative sexual acts (sodomy). (cf. Jude 1:7).
  • Oppression of the poor.
  • The “injustice to the wage earner”: taking advantage of and defrauding workers (cf. James 5:4).

Isn’t that interesting?

Martin goes after a bishop for calling into question the Catholic identity of politicians who promote abortion, a sin that cries to heaven for vengeance.

Martin actively promotes the “sin of the Sodomites”, a sin that cries to heaven for vengeance.

Perhaps he calculates that he has to undermine the Church’s teaching about the one category so that he can more freely pursue his agenda concerning the other?

UPDATE:

But wait! There’s more…

Back in 2016 I posted about how Nancy “The Theologian” Pelosi said something really stupid about the Catholic Faith. HERE

She claimed that – wait for it – same-sex “marriage” is “consistent” with Catholic Christianity.

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 2, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) — House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, says that same-sex “marriage” is perfectly “consistent” with Catholic Christianity.  [That’s just plain dumb.  No, it’s just a lie.  She knows better than that.]

Pelosi brought her grandchildren to see her receive an award from the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, to show the young, impressionable children that “marriage equality is important.”  [Friends, if you open your Illustrated Catholic Dictionary and look at the entry for can. 915, you will find a picture of Nancy Pelosi.  Then again, her photo appears in multiple entries.]

In an interview with Thomas Roberts on MSNBC, Pelosi said she took the children to the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund gala because “it’s really important to see what the practice of our faith is.”

Pelosi, who described herself as a faithful Christian and “mainstream Catholic,” said her pre-adolescent grandchildren needed to see and be present at a gay and lesbian celebration in order “to give them the image that we have for all people,” meaning the image the Catholic Church has for all.  [God help those poor children.]

The House Minority Leader explained that same-sex marriage “is important,” and that her grandchildren “have been hearing this [message supporting gay ‘marriage’] their whole life” because “they go to Catholic school.”  [Pro-sodomy in Catholic schools in San Francisco?  I’m shocked!]

In perhaps the most controversial of her statements, Pelosi said, matter-of-factly, that same-sex ‘marriage’ “is consistent with the dignity and worth we [Catholics] attribute to every person.

[…]

So, Martin sticks up for Biden – who “marries” men – and Pelosi – who takes her grandchildren to sodomite events and then lies about the Church’s teaching.
