POTUS and fathers

What POTUS stands for:

In an official presidential proclamation on the White House web site, he proclaimed:

Nurturing families come in many forms, and children may be raised by a father and mother, a single father, two fathers, a step father, a grandfather, or caring guardian. We owe a special debt of gratitude for those parents serving in the United States Armed Forces and their families, whose sacrifices protect the lives and liberties of all American children. For the character they build, the doors they open, and the love they provide over our lifetimes, all our fathers deserve our unending appreciation and admiration.

Many men can be father figures.

God want a mother and father in a family.

Consistent with his campaign promise and recent actions (declaring gay pride month for example) to promote the homosexual agenda. Just one of dozens of positions he supports which are either immoral, unconstitutional, or not reflective of a nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles. He is the most un-american of any U S President.

  2. doanli says:

This man needs a LOT of prayers.

FWIW, even his supporters are souring on him. He cannot even seem to get his act together and he’s turning our allies against us. (Or maybe that’s intentional? ie, Britain)

  3. TNCath says:

The whole thing is down the drain. We are dealing with evil here. The devil is alive and well.

  4. fatherpatinla says:

America, America, what have we done to ourselves? So much makes me sad to see what is going on with our government, our people, our Church here in the United States. But I took comfort from the words of St. Thomas More the other day, “…nothing can come but what God wills. And I am very sure that whatever that be, however bad it may seem, it shall indeed be the best.” God is ultimately in charge of this country of ours, whether we give Him the reins or not! That helps me handle the news of POTUS and others.

  5. rakesvines says:

It is not natural. Then again, Obama does not follow natural law much less Divine positive law. He’s even out to change the Constitution. One sows the wind and reaps the whirlwind. (FYI, I did not vote for this man.)

  6. Andrew says:

Looks to me like overall, the proclamation is not bad, with the exception of that one wacky paragraph which looks like an attempt to please those who push the so called “same sex marriage” ideas.

I think it is important not to get disheartened. This battle can be won because it is a battle for common sense based on natural realities. Calmly but firmly people need to emphasize the basics: the complementarity that exists between the male and the female, the generation of offspring through the union of male and female from which proceeds all family life, and the physical and affective incompatibility of homosexual relationships. Those who base their opinions on reality are in a position to win these arguments.

  7. Andrew says:

And then again … perhaps I am being overly optimistic because this is not only about winning arguments but about changing hearts and above all this is about purity of heart and there the hurdle is much higher.

  8. Peggy R says:

After seeing the Father’s Day proclamation, I looked back and found his Mother’s Day proclamation, which has not received any attention, did the same thing, noting two mother households.

Some are calling him incremental on gay “rights.” He’s been doing a lot of incrementalling these past few weeks.

This is clearly focused on getting children and young adults to have this mindset. Those of us who are older usually have our minds set either way already. But as a parent, or a Church, if we teach the younger generation that homosexuality is disordered, we are seen as not compassionate, or bigots, or merely “out of touch.” I see this with my children’s friends; they are so quick to accept that as a normal lifestyle – it has been ingrained in them. Parents are afraid to say “this is wrong.” I am only 34, but I don’t think I knew about homosexuality until I was maybe 12 or 13. Now kids know about it and accept it as normal right away from very early. It’s everywhere; heck, even our POTUS says it’s great.

I never liked this man, much less vote for him.

I keep praying that he has a ‘St. Paul moment’, gets knocked off his high horse, and learns some humility!

‘Two fathers’-yech! No such thing, Mr. President! And stop pandering to the homosexual agenda!

  12. Penguins Fan says:

Popular culture is what is driving this pro-homosexual agenda. Education, at the primary and college levels, is also doing its part to further the homosexual agenda.

It is embedded in entertainment television shows, documentaries and movies. Pop culture hates Christianity. Pop culture hates all who disagree with it and pop culture follows Alinsky’s rule to demonize its opponents. Young people are extremely vulnerable to pop culture. Not following every aspect of pop culture leaves a typical teenager out of the loop and ostracized.

It is no wonder that Obama is doing what he is doing. Homosexuals are an important constituency of the Democrat Party, as are the teachers’ unions and Planned Parenthood.

I check out a hockey blog most days of the week. It is run by a man with a Polish last name who has his head fully wedged into the maws of pop culture. He praised the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks for having a player represent the Blackhawks in the upcoming Chicago homosexual parade. Most of the dufuses who posted replies supported this as well.

I remember well the homosexual “convention” that took place in Washington, DC in the spring of 1993. C-SPAN showed some of the disgusting details, which the LameStream Media chose to ignore. People who brought families to visit DC that weekend were horrified.

Abortion and homosexuality are all part of the contraceptive culture. They can be defeated, but it will take years if not decades, and will need to include the laity as well as the clergy.

  13. EXCHIEF says:

    Andrew
I do think you are being overly optimistic. If this regime pushes its agenda to the point where it enacts laws (which it is doing) that promote the homosexual agenda every citizen will be forced to abide by those laws their personal and moral beliefs not withstanding.

    Penguines Fan et al:

There seems to be a premise in “pop culture”, that homosexual activity is driven by an in-born “gay” gene that is part of homosexual physiology; thereby, creating the “Civil Right” argument,as was the case of race equality four decades ago.

This premise is the “Achilles Heel” of Homosexualist argument. It has yet to be proven by the APA or in any other competent scientific body that has not been co-opted by their political activism, yet pop culture treats it as a normal (natural) and alternate state of being. The burden of proof remains with homosexual activists, their sympathizers in the MSM and therapeutic community. It is their persistant propaganda over the last 30 plus years that has and is bamboozaling the public. They are effectively “running with the ball”

I do know those with homosexual behavioral tendencies have little or no choice in their inclinations. The source of those inclinations remains a mystery to the professional therapeutic community. Is it environmental? Are people born with a certain disposition, with certain proclivities and personality traits? Acting out such behavior is nevertheless disordered.

In 1973, the weight of empirical data, coupled with changing social norms and the development of a politically active “Gay” community in the United States, led the Board of Directors of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to remove homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

Please refer to “The Overhauling of Straight America” was written by Marshall K. Kirk and Erastes Pill and appeared in Guide Magazine, a homosexual publication, in November 1987 (over 20 years ago) and I will be hardpressed to believe that persistant homosexual activism has not contributed to the current state of “Pop Culture”:

A priest in our deanery is open about “homosexual rights”. At least 50% of our parish voted for POTUS. I cannot understand why more priests and bishops talk about real moral issues from the pulpit. We also have one of the best bishops, who during the election, publically told Catholics to “consider their immortal souls” if voting for POTUS-the great and often maligned Bishop Finn.

I was edified in one parish, when working in RCIA, the homosexual couple who came in for “Come and See”, were asked to separate before taking classes. The couple broke up over this and one man became a Catholic. This was in an English parish.

  17. Sandy says:

“Fatherpatinla” says it best. If I didn’t have my strong faith, I would be depressed every day. We must keep praying – Holy Mass, rosaries, chaplets of mercy!

  18. JosephMary says:

The enemy of souls has done this…

Did you read of the teenage lesbian denied taking her girlfriend to prom…and the aftermath is that she was just feted at the white house and will lead the obscene gay pride (pride being chief of the 7 deadly sins) parade. Ellen Degenerate has given her 30G for college and others are also giving her money.

Wow! It is paying to be perverse. In this world. But what about the next? Leading and promoting perversity is a terrible thing. As Our Lady said, the most souls go to hell for sins of the flesh and now we are enshrining them.

We can only look to God to save us from the evils of this age. Societies before they collapse embrace immorality. We are there.

  19. Supertradmum says:

    Penguins Fan,

One of the problems I have encountered has been older, traditional Catholic parents changing their minds about lesbianism and homosexuality when their child or children go that route. One of my family’s best friend, a deacon, who lost one child to AIDS in San Fransisco, and has another in a lesbian “marriage” with adopted children, no longer can teach against these sins. Either his family has brainwashed him, or as one of our friends said, when she went to a lesbian wedding, “You don’t love people if you do not support them in their lifestyles”. Odd kind of love which does not speak the truth about the potential loss of the couple’s immortal souls.

I’m in my early twenties and one thing I don’t understand is that so many people have grown up in broken families, which was the direct result of the sexual revolution of the 60s and 70s, and yet many of my peers still support that culture and want to weaken marriage even more by supporting the homosexual lifestyle. Can anyone help me understand what exactly transpired here, because I don’t get it. My generation should know better because many of my peers, including many of my friends, grew up in broken families. I just don’t understand what’s going on. We know what the sexual revolution did to society because we were caught up in the aftermath of it, so why are we supporting weakening families even more? The hypocrisy and selfishness is mind-boggling!

  21. Supertradmum says:

    Dear Blissmeister86,

Having family members of your generation and having taught your generation, I think the answer could be that your peer group mainly did not grow up with any moral framework, on the whole. Also, your peers are very loath to “judge” anyone, not believing in objective truth, but relativism. This means that the Millennial Generation rarely stands for any one truth. In addition, one’s family is one’s peers, because of the family breakups, as you so readily describe. Friends are more important than family. In addition, from my experience as teacher and mother, Millennials like to be individuals and are less inclined to be in any organized groups, such as churches. Computers and computer gaming has encouraging this extreme individualism, as has online chat, twitter, texting, etc, which does not demand meeting people in groups, as my generation did all the time.

If I may add one more thing, just as your generation is more individualitic, so is church attendance way down in most areas once the Millenials reach 20-something. I am not exaggerating when I say that I can count the number of Millennials one hand at Sunday Mass, a Mass which normally sees about 350 people. (There are four Masses and the one we go to is the third highest attendance).

  22. Supertradmum says:

have, not has-sorry and do not does- and “one” one hand–I am very tired today and my grammar needs a nap, even after proofreading.

  23. Andrew says:

    Serviam1

You write: “The source of those inclinations remains a mystery to the professional therapeutic community. Is it environmental? Are people born with a certain disposition, with certain proclivities and personality traits?”

Here is my take on this:
The view that our emotional motives are the result of bodily chemistry or some inborn physical characteristics and that science can somehow “explain” them and provide a key for living an orderly life, this view is very common these days. But when St. Paul writes to the Romans he takes a completely different approach (6:20) “But what profit did you get then from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.” He makes it clear to the Romans that their acceptance of Faith has freed them from sin and blindness. I wonder if this is not part of our error: a lot of Christians confuse the Faith with human “decency”. How often do we hear something like “such and such is a good person but he does not believe”. And how much of children’s catechism and also of preaching these days is about nothing more but some elementary education in social decency. We can talk forever about what we should do and why someone entertains an inclination for a given sin and whether it is excusable or not: but such inquiry is kind of irrelevant: we’re all inclined to sin and must commit ourselves to God and mortify ourselves in order to overcome our vain and evil inclinations. That is – to my understanding – the foundation of christianity. It is not just another school of human decency. It is the one and only radical following of a Crucified Teacher and of a turning against myself in a pursuit of otherworldly purity at any cost. An escape from a deadly situation, so to speak. Once that is established, then it matters little what kind of sin I am fighting against and it is no longer a matter of scientific inquiry to “figure out” why I crave this or that. It becomes a matter of a spiritual discernment. So the task for a person with homosexual inclinations is no different from anyone else. It’s the same task: know yourself and overcome yourself. With Divine help. The surprising element in all of this is the end result: by turning against myself I become a much happier person, while examples of those who do not fight against themselves and end up in ruin are many.

  24. Serviam1 says:

    Andrew,

AMEN!!! I agree with you completely.

The thrust of the information (links) I provided is solely to raise the level of awareness that to talk about a “Homosexual Agenda” is a serious force to reckon with, in its ability form and impose a message on the larger culture. The results we are seeing all around us, including attacks on fatherhood and family life have been in them works for at sometime and represent the most serious engagement Evil in many decades. It is important to realize there is an organized effort behind these trends. It is NOT a conspiracy theory that can be quickly disregarded

Of course we all, know its true source. It has affected mankind since the Fall. We need to enjoin in this battle both on the natural and supernatural levels simaltaneously, always keeping focus on our True goal for the Good of all.

  25. MaryMaria says:

    Saint Michael the Archangel,
    defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host –
by the Divine Power of God –
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

    Amen.

  26. Marty Helgesen says:

For all matters involving homosexuals and their supporters, including attempts to force the Church and civil society to pretend that homosexuality is “an alternate but equally valid sexual orientation,” I recommend prayers to Sts. Charles Lwanga and Companions, the Uganda Martyrs. They were killed because they refused to engage in acts of perversion with the homosexual, pagan king or supported and encouraged those who refused.
