Meeting seminarians

One of the great things about traveling is meeting good people along the way.

Tonight three seminarians made their way from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary to Mater Ecclesiae for a period of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament exposed in the church for Forty Hours Devotion.  They rang the door of the rectory and asked Fr. Pasley if I was around and… wouldn’t you know… I was!

So we sat and shot the breeze for a little while.

These are really good fellows and their dioceses should be very pleased to have them.

Seminarians impress me more and more.

Here we are with Fr. Robert Pasley, the locum tenens at Mater Ecclesiae.

I also learned to my delight that one of these men is a mutual friend of some faithful WDTPRS readers, both in the blog and the print version.  A shout out to them as well!  As a matter of fact, they helped him learn how to serve the TLM, thus contributing an important dimension to his future work as a priest.

Next to Jesus and the Blessed Mother, Fr. Z is the celebrity of any church’s grounds when present ;) Don’t worry, Fr. Z, St. Joseph doesn’t mind his shadowy existence. It’s his MO.

    Pax!

It is good to see a fellow Port Richmondite represented among the Seminarians. St. Ann’s (on Lehigh Avenue) has been the fertile fields for many good priests in its lengthy history. So has my now former parish, Nativity BVM on Allegheny Avenue (one of three Catholic Churches within a mile). The others are Our Lady Help of Christians and Saint Adalbert. Woo-Hoo, Port Richmond is now GLOBAL!
PRAY FOR GOOD AND HOLY VOCATIONS!

  4. While here in Norcia, Italy for an ordination, we had several seminarians from the North American College come up. I must say, they appear to be some pretty solid guys. It’s great to see some good men from diocese around the United States on the way to the priesthood.

Pray for them and for more vocations.

Hmm, now I’ll have to live vicariously through my classmates…

Delighted! Please, Fr. Z. continue along this line of reporting. Let’s pray for these young men.

  7. I attended seminary with these guys. Good friends…

This is great, Father. When seminarians take the time to look for a certain priest it says a lot about the priest. Look at all the people who show up for the blognics you host in the different locales you visit. It’s a wonderful thing. :)

    God bless.

  9. Anthony says:

    God give us holy priests!

  10. TJM says:

What helps much is when priests who are happy in their vocation spend time with seminarians. Keep up the good work Father Z! These look
like really fine young men. May they persevere in their vocation! Tom
