ACTION ITEM! New music CD from Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles! 1 WEEK COUNTDOWN

CLICK TO BUY (Have you thought about Mother's Day yet?)

It is now one week until the release of this great new disk from the sisters.  (Audio sample below.)

REPOSTED FROM 15 April:

______________

On a day when the Catholic news is filled with the CDF smackdown of the LCWR, and on a day when there is much sadness because of the terrorism in Boston, here is some good news.

The wonderful Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles (in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph) have another music CD.

Angels and Saints at Ephesus

This is available now for PRE-ORDER for release on 7 May 2013.  (Mother’s Day is 12 May)

Their house is called the Priory of Our Lady of Ephesus. Thus the name.

I had a note from a priest friend who is visiting the sisters today.  He wrote that they are trying to build a new chapel!

So, everyone… get some disks!  Help the sisters build that chapel!

Give CDs to your mothers and your friends, perhaps in a basket along with bags of Mystic Monk Coffee from the great state of Wyoming and soap from the Soap Sisters in New Jersey!

To motivate you, here is  short collage of excerpts I cut together from the advance copy the sisters sent to me.

Their CD of Advent music: US disk HERE. US mp3 HERE.  Their Christmas CD HERE.

See?  I told you this was good news!

And how it was to be able to use that “Women Religious” tag on this entry without it being about weird sisters.

Get the idea?

I recognize one of the young nuns in the picture above as someone who was in my children’s choir, a little over 15 years ago. I think that I was the first one to teach her chant. I’m very proud of her!

  2. acardnal says:

I am willing to bet that the Benedictine Sisters of Mary, Queen of Apostles are NOT members of the LCWR.

In any event, wouldn’t it be nice to hear this CD played at the next LCWR convention? I can dream.

  3. APX says:

Are they available on iTunes or in mp3 format? I no longer own a CD player.

  4. Kathleen10 says:

If the angels in heaven don’t sound like this I think it will be very disappointing.

  5. paul_leone says:

Superb! I have their first two CDs, and this looks to be just as good. I can’t wait for the release.

  6. TKS says:

Purchased my pre-copy today. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Amazing sound!

  7. capchoirgirl says:

I have pre-ordered and can’t wait! I love “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence”–one of my favorite hymns. These would also make good Mother’s Day gifts for musically inclined moms!

  8. capchoirgirl says:

APX: I think this is disc only–no MP3 or iTunes.

I have the previous four albums and they are just sublime, especially the Christmas CD. Hope this one makes the pop charts like the last.

    Done. Mother’sDay gift.

I listen to a public classical radio station and for the last 11 days they have been in the midst of their fundraising (again!) and all I hear is their phone #, over & over again! I’m ready to pull my hair out. This is something I will definitely buy, for me!
    Sweet!
