“He [Satan] will set up a counter-Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. In desperate need for God, whom he nevertheless refuses to adore, modern man in his loneliness and frustration will hunger more and more for membership in a community that will give him enlargement of purpose, but at the cost of losing himself in some vague collectivity.”
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops.”

A monthly subscription donation means I have steady income I can plan on. I put you my list of benefactors for whom I pray and for whom I often say Holy Mass.
In view of the rapidly changing challenges I now face, I would like to add more $10/month subscribers. Will you please help?

"But if, in any layman who is indeed imbued with literature, ignorance of the Latin language, which we can truly call the 'catholic' language, indicates a certain sluggishness in his love toward the Church, how much more fitting it is that each and every cleric should be adequately practiced and skilled in that language!" - Pius XI
"Let us realize that this remark of Cicero (Brutus 37, 140) can be in a certain way referred to [young lay people]: 'It is not so much a matter of distinction to know Latin as it is disgraceful not to know it.'" - St. John Paul II
Grant unto thy Church, we beseech Thee, O merciful God, that She, being gathered together by the Holy Ghost, may be in no wise troubled by attack from her foes. O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified, mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people making supplication unto Thee,and turn away the scourges of Thine anger which we deserve for our sins. Almighty and Everlasting God, in whose Hand are the power and the government of every realm: look down upon and help the Christian people that the heathen nations who trust in the fierceness of their own might may be crushed by the power of thine Arm. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. R. Amen.

Prayer Before Using The Internet HERE
Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thine image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thine Only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, Bishop and Doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
“There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission…” Even Pelosi is in favor of it – this is the Outer Limits!
This is the moment when some number of people will recognize that their support has been blind. It will not be Kerry’s lineage among the first shot down; it will not be Obama’s, Pelosi’s or Clinton’s privileged children.
It will not be successful, from our Country’s viewpoint, and they will not be blind to that either. Not long term.
I hope more of them will be hearing the Pope’s courageous stand for peace and start seeing the wisdom of the Gospel.
Hey Father Z. ! This Syrian conundrum might prove the perfect moment to try out that Air Force missile you wrote of earlier which successfully defeated electronic targets with little to no collateral damage, i.e. the Counter-electronics High-powered Microwave Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP).
Knock out those Syrian iPods! Blow-out their Kindles.
Just a thought.
[An attack on innocent Kindles? Hey! If liberals see guns as being in themselves evil (especially if they are black and scary looking) because – as we all know, guns sometimes all by themselves start to shoot people – then surely Kindles, which can have children’s books on them, will be judged to be in themselves innocent. Stop the attacks on innocent Kindles! I am not so sure about iPods.]
The hypocrisy of the left never ceases to amaze me.
Groovy.

Where is the anti-war left? Plus, we hear nothing but cricket noise out of the president’s friends in Hollywood.
Facta Non Verba,
A conservative on Twitter, @JohnEkdahl, wrote a perfect, scathing web article about the now-silent, anti-war left.

The left’s mindset is, apparently, that racism occurs only when you speak out against a black person, not when you vote or otherwise support a person only or largely because of his skin color.
Hey. “The Sicilian Woman.” Nice username.
@John F Kennedy,
I’m sure I’ll be sneered at, but I actually kinda liked that song by the Cowsills (‘Hair’ was better though).
However my grooviest favourite from that summer of ’67 was ‘Lazy Day’ by Spanky and Our Gang.
Thanks for the memory, JFK!
Bosco:
“Hair” was indeed better. “The Rain, the Park” was a “Good Vibrations” knockoff.
The Sicilian Woman:
They left out the Dixie Chicks, didn’t they?
It is a good song.
Sorry, Fr. Z, but Kindles could contain really evil matter, such as criticism of Dear Leader, so of course, must be destroyed.
Obama is no John F. Kindle-dy.
The Chicken
@Legisperitus,
The Cowsills were a Partridge Family knockoff and that’s who they emulated.
I beg to differ with you as to any similarity in style between The Cowsills “The Rain, The Park, & Other Things” and the Beachboys masterpiece “Good Vibrations”.
Peace man (or woman)!
Bosco, I had an amazing Cowsills experience! About two years ago I was at a Connecticut casino where they often have free shows in a venue called “The Wolf Den”, that is an open stage in the round, circled by slot machines. My Mom was playing. I was standing near her, and all of a sudden I heard “give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair, shinin, gleamin, streamin, flaxen, waxen…” and was SHOCKED to realize the Cowsills were playing. It was so cool. They are Rhode Islanders so they are basically local, but you never saw them play locally. The casinos are like that. You never know who you’ll just fall across. Anyway it was great. They are actually very talented.
I have actually given this alot of thought over the years. What is my all-time favorite song, if I had to pick one. Really, I have actually pondered this many times, in case I should be asked! My conclusion: Get Together – The Youngbloods. I hear it, I’m ten years old again. The lyrics, the melody, the guitar, the percussion…I’m sure we all have those songs.
Siculum: Grazie!
Legisperitus: I forgot about them, too. They’ve been kind of (mercifully) quiet lately, haven’t they? Or perhaps it’s because I am largely divorced from pop culture.
@Kathleen10,
I remember the Wee Five version of ‘Get Together’. The Youngbloods version was after I peaked 8-).
My mother has my collection of old 45s most of which were one-hit wonders. All I need is something to play them on.
