The final target of the Third Hijra: Rome and the Catholic Church

On this anniversary of 9/11 I call to mind a post about the “Islamic Cultural Center” to be build near the site of the World Trade Center, but which was really a rabat,

The first rabat appeared at the time of the Prophet.

The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word “raid”). The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.

After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat — or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided. The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare for future razzias. Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires. After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.

[NB:] It is no coincidence that Islamists routinely use the term ghazva to describe the 9/11 attacks against New York and Washington. The terrorists who carried out the attack are referred to as ghazis or shahids (martyrs).

I don’t think that we are really taking stock of what is going on in the West.

“Immigrants” are pouring into Europe across the Mediterranean via Lampedusa. “Immigrants” are pouring into Europe through Turkey toward Germany.

The Final Hijra: A Warning on the Refugee Crisis

[…]The world is reaping what has been sown. [That is, what the West has wrought in the Middle East.] Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced and are on the move, a massive sea of humanity flowing into Western Europe. They are also threatening to overrun the borders into Eastern European nations. The American and Western European governments are saying this is a “refugee crisis,” and the news media, like good propagandists, run images of a few poor women and children, while neglecting to show us the rest of the situation. Not displayed is the mass of overwhelmingly young, healthy, well-dressed males, carrying the latest smart phones. Far from the starving widows and orphans one might imagine upon hearing the word, “refugee,” these men have come to riot, rampage, and destroy.

[NB] Lest anyone allow themselves to be deceived, this is not a normal migration – it is a hijra.

“Hijra” does mean “migration “ in Arabic. But it carries a deeper connotation. In Islamic history, the hijra was the event in 622 AD, when Muhammad and his small cult fled the city of Mecca to Yathrib, both of which are in what is today Saudi Arabia, and the latter which Muhammad renamed “Medina,” which means “the city.” This act marks three of the major events in Islam, which are:

  1. The beginning of the Islamic calendar
  2. The creation of the first Islamic government
  3. The prolific use of violence and torture to propagate Islam

At the time when Muhammad made the hijra with his followers, Medina was a city with a Jewish majority, which had peaceable relations with the other pagan Arabs. By the time Muhammad launched his band of raiders from that same city eight years later to conquer Mecca in 630, most of the pagan and Jewish populations were either converted to Islam, had fled, or were dead. The few survivors were forced to pay an extortion tax — called a jizya — to Muhammad and his followers. This was the only way they would be granted permission for their continued existence under Muhammad’s new Caliphate.

In Islamic law and applied theology, the idea of the hijra pertains to the movement of a group of Muslims from a predominately Muslim area to a predominately non-Muslim area, with the goal of establishing Islam’s dominance in it. After Muhammad’s death, Muslims have counted two great hijras in the West. The first was the great Islamic expansion from 632 to 750, when Islamic armies conquered all of the territory from what is today central France to Uzbekistan. The second hijra included the Turkish migrations that resulted in the fall of Constantinople, and reached its zenith with Islamic armies besieging the gates of Vienna in 1683. It was during this last encounter that the horde was driven back by Polish Catholic forces into the Balkan Peninsula, breaking the strength of the Ottoman Empire.

The battle began on September 11th, 1683. [No, it is not a coincidence.]

After the Battle of Vienna, European regimes began to rapidly colonize the Middle East, and the remains of the Ottoman Empire diminished, eventually being formally abolished by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1923 – but not before purging over a million Armenian, Assyrian, Pontic Greek, and Turkish Christians from its lands between 1915 and 1917. Muslim “revivalists” beginning as early as the 18th century reminisced about a return to the practice of “orthodox” Islam, and posited that in so doing, they could bring about a revival of the same bestial force which conquered so much of the world and subjected so many countless peoples under Islam’s burdensome yoke. The first hijra conquered Jerusalem in 638. The second hijra conquered Constantinople in 1453. Two of the three oldest and holiest cities for Christians were conquered by Muslims.

Except for Rome.

This, now, is the third hijra. According to certain voices in the Islamic world, it will be the final hijra, the one that will conquer Rome.

In Islamic circles, there has been a long-held belief that Christianity — and specifically, the Catholic Church — is the main obstacle impeding Islam’s domination of all humanity under one religious and political system. Therefore, in order to realize this vision, the Christian faithful must not only be converted to Islam, but their sacred spaces must be taken from them and given to the dar Al-Islam – “the house of Islam.” If the Islamic conquest of Jerusalem led to the end of Christianity as the dominant religion in the Holy Land, and the same was true in the Byzantine Empire with the fall of Constantinople, the conquest of Rome and the Islamization of St. Peter’s Basilica would mean the effective destruction of the Church worldwide, and its replacement with Islam. [I call the mind the “peace tree” planted in the Vatican Gardens and the prayer of the Imam.  HERE  Be sure to follow the links and read about what that may have symbolized.]

[…]

We are witnessing the beginning of the next great Islamic invasion. It may well represent an existential crisis for the West.

When the time comes, will we be ready to fight them? Everything we know and love is at stake.

Had I read this a year ago I would have thought it “over the top” – today I read it and think it is not nearly strident enough! The problem with Europe (and honestly the US) is that so few really believe in religious motivations and actions. People may give lip service to “praying” or “their faith” but they can hardly conceive of the level of devout belief and lifestyle practiced by a majority of muslims around the world. Hopefully a true understanding of this threat will enter into the European conscious before they face irreparable damage and loss.

I’ve been thinking about this dilemma for a while. I will gladly stand with my fellow Christian Poles, Italians, Slovaks, Croatians, Russians, etc. if they’re ever attacked or persecuted. However, I honestly don’t know which side I should support when the Muslims started attacking our secularized, feminized, and homosexualized brethren in the West. So far, I haven’t seen hordes of atheist/agnostic Dutch, Brits, French, Belgians, or Spaniards returning to the Faith.

The date of 9.11.1 has a symbolic origin in the Koran as well: “Quran 9:111 – “Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.”

Why aren’t the wealthy rulers of the Middle East doing anything to help the people who speak their language, share their religion and customs? Have any of the media other than the Washington Post spoken of this? Could this deluge of refugees become a future fifth column undermining the values of the countries who have taken them in and turning the population who don’t convert into dhimis?

    Father Z,
About 15 years ago I was awoke in the middle of night by a monotone voice telling me Russia would lead many nations in an attack on Israel from Syria. I could see a yellow map of Syria and as the voice ticked off the names of the countries involved a red line advanced along what must be a road or highway starting at the Turkish border. After the list of usual suspects were named the red line turned in a southerly direction towards Damascus. Some eastern European countries were named and then France was mentioned along with other western countries. I lost focus at the mention of France thinking that when this happens their ( France’s) muslim situation was out of control, so I don’t know if Italy is overtaken by muslims. As soft and decadent as I perceive Europeans I can see how easy a couple hundred thousand terrorist scattered across Europe armed just with knives could force Governments throughout the region to capitulate.
When the red line reached the area around Damascus I heard the loud noise of an explosion and then white noise just like the old analog televisions made when they lost there signal ending this particular vision.

For nearly 50 years I have always called what is coming as the “Great Event”, in recent weeks with Russia already in Syria and Iran saying they will join Russia I have come to believe that what happens in Syria triggers WWW III and I am also no longer confident that we are merely coming to the end of an era.

My best friend was born in Afghanistan, which is ironic since I became a FBI Agent; in the Academy, we were taught to respect Islam, while learning about the extremist elements. I also trained with the CIA, and one of the CIA Officers I trained with was a Muslim, who was honestly one of the most patriotic, nicest, men I’ve ever met. One can take passages from the Bible, too, and call us Catholic-Christians extremists. Whatever one thinks of Obama, I think he is correct in taking out extremists like Anwar al-Awlaki in drone strikes, whether US Citizens or not. If the ideology is to kill US Persons, then we should cut the head off the snake. Otherwise, we shouldn’t presume that just because a person is Muslim he’s bad, or “evil.” Zeitun Egypt, for instance, is a place where Mary has shown herself, before Muslims, who both venerate Jesus, and Mary. If we can show them love (though, we must always fight extremist), there is a chance God can change their hearts to Christ.

    Let us pray.
Grant, we beseech You, almighty God, that through the protection of the most holy Virgin Mary, Your faithful people who delight in her name may, by her loving intercession, be delivered from all evils on earth and be found worthy to attain everlasting happiness in heaven.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.
    R. Amen.

Let us all go to Church today, pray and do penance.

Let us also keep the Hungarians, the Poles, the Czechs in our prayers since they are presently fighting the good fight.

  18. The Masked Chicken says:

There is little doubt about the violent propensities of Moslem youth on any soil, but at this time, a true hijra doesn’t seem likely for one reason – the refugees are not scattered enough, yet. The last two hijra have been, essentially, cases of symmetric warfare. They were won by overwhelming force of numbers with groups fighting with similar weapons. The Moslem’s own theology, however, was the seed of their own defeat at the battle of Lapanto, because, around the time of the fall of Constantinople, Islam became radically anti-intellectual (see the Regensburg address of Benedict XVI). The Moslems lost the battle of Lapanto because they refused to modernize their sailing ships according to the better designs of the European technology. After their loss, they became ghettoized for 3 centuries. Only recently have the Moslems begun to adopt modern technology. Even now, they are nowhere near symmetry with the West. The only way they have survived this long is by adopting the tactics of asymmetric warfare or so-called Fourth Generation Warefare, which we saw put to devastating use in Vietnam, where the much less technologically advanced North Vietnamese held on against the overwhelming technological superiority of the U. S.

Asymmetric warfare depends on having a scattered, diffuse mobilization of the weaker force so that they can slash and grab areas of land or inflict psychological damage. The reason the insurgent wars work so well in the Middle East is that the weaker forces are spread far and wide. If they were centralized, they would be wiped out in a single strategic maneuver. The next hijra will have to be based on asymmetric principles and until there is a proxy supplying the weaker force, they lack both resources and the diffusion across Europe to, at this time, effectively wage asymmetric warfare on Europe as a whole. Indeed, such warfare could simply be stopped by cutting all cell phone signals, since there can be little organization without communication.

Once the Moslems become more diffuse across Europe, so that the size of insurgent cells are larger and communication can be carried out more efficiently, and, especially, if there is a proxy supplying them, then all bets are off. Given the animosity between Russia and China, especially since China has the U. S. in an economic stranglehold at the present time, it is not to either of their advantages to wage war by proxy in Europe, since, ultimately, it would be to no purpose, since Islam will never accept puppet status of their suppliers, as North Vietnam did with the Chinese, should they win in the West.

After another five years, especially if either China or U. S, economics tanks, all bets are off.

It is worth remembering the Saracen invasion of August 846. Rudolfo Lanciani (for example) reports “they took possession – free and undisturbed – of the basilicas of St. Peter and St. Paul outside the walls.” If I am not mistaken, some contemporary Muslims claim that Rome is already part of the dar Al-Islam on this basis, and only awaiting ‘restoration’, ‘liberation’, etc.

Horace Mann’s 1910 “Pope St. Leo IV” Catholic Encyclopedia article led me to Lanciani’s The Destruction of Ancient Rome, of which multiple scans can be found in the Internet Archive. Chapter XI is well worth reading!

muhammed was an evil, mass-murdering, rapist pedophile.

islam is an evil and false religion. One has to either be extremely stupid or extremely evil to follow it. Either one is extremely dangerous.

All the issues we talk about on sites like this, liturgy abuse, the Extraordinary Form vs. the Ordinary Form, Confession, etc. etc. It won’t mean jack-**** when you’re paying the jizyah tax, and your granddaughters have to wear the veil to keep from being harassed on the street (Starting to happen in places in Sweden…), or when your grandsons are stolen and turned into modern-day Janissaries (Yes, the islamic state have brought the Janissaries back.) Your “1962 Missal”? Yeah, that’ll be a thing of the past, collecting dust in attics, forgotten, and rotting away. Churches in the East don’t have Missals, because carrying a book like around on the street could get you killed in the caliphate., it is still illegal to bring in a “1962 Missal” into Saudi Arabia.

If I overhear someone talk about islam in church or church-related activities, I SPEAK UP, and I Correct them. And everyone here should learn about islam and do the same!

They know exactly what they’re doing. How can the rest of the world be so blind, or so stupid!

  27. The Astronomer says:

Hillaire Belloc foresaw all of this almost a hundred years ago….

“For centuries the struggle between Islam and the Catholic Church continued. It had varying fortunes, but for something like a thousand years the issue remained doubtful. The Turks besieged Vienna, and nearly took it, less than a century before the American Declaration of Independence. Islam was then our superior, especially in the military arts. It was not until nearly the year 1700 that Christian culture seemed – for a time – to be definitely the master. During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the Islamic world fell under a kind of palsy. It could not catch up with our rapidly advancing physical sciences. Its shipping and armament and all means of communication and administration went backwards, while ours advanced. At last, by the end of the nineteenth century, more than nine-tenths of the Islamic world population of the world, from India and the Pacific to the Atlantic, had fallen under the government of nominally Christian nations, especially of England and France. On this account our generation came to think of Islam as something naturally subject to ourselves. We no longer regarded it as a rival to our own culture, we thought of its religion as a sort of fossilized thing about which we need not trouble.”

“…there is no reason why Islam’s recent inferiority in mechanical construction, whether military or civilian, should continue indefinitely. We shall almost certainly have to reckon with Islam in the near future.”

    – British historian Hillaire Belloc, writing in 1929

Chicken- Mightn’t that funding by proxy actually be the taxpaying citizens of the EU, or the US taxpayers as our money is spent by the UN?

Let’s see, thousands of able-bodied young men traveling without women. Sounds remarkably like an army. People won’t start to get it until western women/children are sold as sex slaves in open markets like ISIS does in the middle east. In my view, western women are ripe for victimization by Muslim men because our culture has become so feminized. Women instinctually seek strong men, and even though Islam has a reputation for treating women horribly, some women (especially those without father figures) will see the fanaticism of the young muslim men as strength. Colonization by the shirt sword, indeed.

  33. chantgirl says:

Sorry, that would be short sword.

One last thought, God has routinely punished His people for the unfaithfulness by allowing their enemies to conquer and punish them. It is difficult to think of another period when the Church has been so unfaithful to God and His laws.

  34. PA mom says:

“Are we ready to fight them?”

I can’t shake the impression that Pope Francis is doing just that when he calls for Catholics to open their homes to refugee families. What a radical choice to make, a concretely expressed loving of (possible) enemy, welcoming of stranger. But also, what better way to povide a lesson to that family on Christianity? A devout family could indeed present quite the example, offering the other family a most amazing opportunity for conversion. It is so radical that I know that it is beyond my ability to do.

It seems to me like hand to hand spiritual combat, winning Christian souls through radical obedience and even some Muslim souls through the use of their newly gained free will enlightened by the divinely inspired Love they receive.

God IS good and that His Goodness does triumph, though not necessarily here on earth this time.

The difference between this and previous Islamic invasions of Europe, is that in the past we held them at the gates.
This time we in Europe, and it would seem even the Pope, (“Islam is a religion of peace”) have allowed, welcomed, them in!

This constitutes a major disaster for Catholicism, and for European civilisation.

The German reaction in effectively inviting an open Islamic influx is hard to grasp but then Germans do odd things from time to time and Mrs Merkel has proved to be typical of her type.

There will be a terrible reckoning!

  39. lmgilbert says:

None of this invasion of Europe is happening without the permission of God. How weary Europe is of God and of Christianity. To me it is as if the Lord is saying, “Tired of Christianity are you? Here, have some Islam!” I doubt very much that the problem lies in the Koran, but rather in what Christians have been inviting into their homes for decades. Watch Italian TV for about two days, and you will have a very clear idea of what is destroying Europe. The spiritual defenses have fallen.

Tired of modesty, of the sacrament of Matrimony, of heterosexual relationships and want to play around in the muck? Tired of the freedom of the sons of God and prefer to be enslaved to sin and to satan? Here, have some Sharia!

Yes, it is all happening with the permission of God. Arm yourselves, Europe, and have protest marches for all the good it will do you. Make up posters and jump up and down in front of TV crews. As for repentance, the rosary, novenas, cleaning up your act, those were the remedies of another era, were they not?

Charles Martel, Jan Sobieski, Pius V – who were they? Unlike them you have rolled out the red carpet for Islam. You have invited the Islamic hordes and they have accepted your invitation, that is all. Keep calm, buy burkas for your women and foot baths for your universities. Perhaps you wake up when the muezzin calls from atop Notre Dame.

  41. Maltese says:

What we are seeing–instead of a Muslim “invasion”–could be a Muslim conversion. Already there are reports of Muslims converting to the true Faith, which they couldn’t do, under penalty up-to and including death, in their own countries. I don’t think a Muslim child is pre-destined to be a terrorist, but if we treat them as terrorists they may well become such. On the other hand, I don’t think Islam is the “religion of peace” as W. Bush proclaimed. I think Islam was founded and rooted in violence, unlike Christianity, which was founded and rooted in love, peace, and “turning the other cheek.” So, I think the proper attitude is the one Christ would have taken (cf. with Samaritans)–love them, and call them to Him, but never to hate them. On the other hand, if they (or anybody) are plotting death to others, kill them with whatever technological, counterintelligence, and military means possible. We should also keep in mind that the war in Iraq was a farce, and led to well over 1,000,000 deaths of Iraqis–this gave rise to ISIL, and the problems in Syria. Is “democracy” necessary in every country in the world? That is our Western praxis, but since God used to rule from above, down to Kings, and thence to people, perhaps we overvalue democracy in places where the people themselves don’t value Christ, and thus vote for leaders who may not as well. Saddam Hussein at least allowed Christians to worship freely (though he was a tyrant, and his sons were monsters); but the question remains: would the world have been a better place if we left that region of the world alone, and minded our own business?

  42. Venerator Sti Lot says:

The Astronomer’s Belloc quotation comes from Survivals and New Arrivals, a somewhat odd-looking scan of which is available in the Internet Archive. The section in question (from chapter 5) begins there on page 248 and continues to page 257. (Also of possible interest in this context in the Internet Archive is his Esto Perpetua: Algerian Studies and Impressions (1911) – and a curious-looking novel with a cover-illustration by Chesterton, The Mercy of Allah (1922)!)

It seems to me that Belloc does not, in Survivals and New Arrivals, give a strong enough sense of quite how gingerly – or ‘with kid gloves’ – Muslim populations were handled at the late-nineteen-century height of “the government of nominally Christian nations” directly over them.

  43. StWinefride says:

lmgilbert says: “To me it is as if the Lord is saying, “Tired of Christianity are you? Here, have some Islam!”

“Let’s see, thousands of able-bodied young men traveling without women. Sounds remarkably like an army. People won’t start to get it until western women/children are sold as sex slaves in open markets like ISIS does in the middle east. ”
Great point. ISIS has said they will use this crisis to get their people into other countries.

Obama has promised to bring in 10.000 refugees from Syria.

“President Obama announced Thursday that the U.S. will accept an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees over the next year, on top of the 1,600 that have already arrived.

The Syrian arrivals coming from United Nations refugee camps to date have been 95 percent Muslim.”
Where are the Christians? How many of these refugees are women and children and how many are
    young Muslim men?

“The intelligence community has briefed me that [terrorists] want to exploit the refugees — [that] terrorists want to exploit the refugee program to infiltrate and get in,” Texas Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security committee, told the Daily Caller Tuesday night.”

I am praying the rosary and one of the things I am asking is for the return of common sense.

Coincidence that you note that the media has been narrowing in on the women and children. Every time I see video of the “refugees”, I’ve been commenting, “Where are the women and children? I don’t see any!”

So, what do we do? It seems that our role is to evangelize, to raise children in the Faith, to help each other become better Christians… Let’s get to it.
