Years ago I heard an old bishop growl, “Meno chiacchiere – più processioni. … Less jabbering – more processions.”
This, my friends, is an officially
BADASS CATHOLIC PHOTO.
A procession in honor of St. Joseph in Detroit.
¡Hagan lío!
UPDATE:
Photo by Naomi Vrazo, Archdiocese of Detroit
Heck. Freaking. Yeah.
St. Joseph is my patron, too. Glad to see someone doing it big for Big Papa Joe.
The venting steam manhole adds something. Eerie or spiritual. Not sure.
Very cool.
[That was one of the little touches that moved it from “good photo” to “DANG!”]
All that “toxic masculinity”…..
As it should be !
The padre with the dark shades? Yup, badass.
This will now be and forevermore my background on my Laptop.
Amen.
Looking at this makes me so happy. St Joseph and his crew. Now those are some real men!
That is a procession I want to join! Love the old-school KofC regalia, too bad we’ll see less of that in the future.
p.s. Francis Ford Coppola, eat your heart out.
Awesome. I can just hear “Little Green Bag”.
so WHEN did this happen?
pbnelson: That’s not Knights of Columbus regalia, at least not from any point in at least the last 20 years, in any case. I would love to know what organization does wear it, and when it was worn.
And I agree, I will miss the the day when my 4th degree KofC regalia will be relegated to the closet, because our Supreme leadership thought it was not “relevant” to young men today. (I could rant for a looooong time about this. So could many other Knights I know, at least one of them my former pastor).
arga, This was during the St. Joseph feast day on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.
Pbnelson and veritas, The regalia is from the Society of St. John, which has a historical presence at St. Joseph Oratory.

Why that appeared twice, I have no idea. Sorry.
@Diana, I had the same thought!
Black Catholic: Great comment.
Outstanding photo. A Thunder Run against Satan. M1 tanks are great, Big Papa Joe is better.
This video, from Detroit Catholic, is even better:
