Yeehah!
Many thanks to CB and JR!
But Father, but Father, some of you are saying:
I have 704 instances of “wdtprs.com/blog/” on my iMac!
Vivat to Father, the Team, and this blog!
I went to “Fr Z” from google and it brought me to a page from 25 March 2008! About a Bugatti!
Great News! :-D
heartfelt thanks to all who brought this to a successful completion
CRACK TEAM for sure, smooth as that move was. Of course that was from this end, which doesn’t show the possible frantic chaos and brilliant solutions in the background some of these moves entail.
Hurrah!!
“Mathazar! (CB & JR & DY), “Activate the Omega 13!”
Great news. It’s working perfectly for me. Didn’t have to change anything – bookmarks, favourites, anything… even on my crocky phone. Sincere thanks to the Z-team.
So glad. that you’re back better than ever.
Getting thing going successfully on a new server is like slipping on a new pair of well-constructed and comfortable new shoes and smelling the new leather…congrats on a successful migration; having done more than I care to think about…it’s a testament to the skill of your back-end team.
[Or… new car smell?]
To add to jaykay’s obselvation, the redirect works quite well: even on this post that didn’t exist before, I can add
/blog/
and it automatically removes it and I get the post.Myself, I was in a comment spree when the move happened (didn’t see the post about the move when I started), and only one comment was lost (happily, one that was easily replaced).
Also, the preview feature works again!
And, oh joyous day, the login form’s HTTPS is up to current security standards at last!
Father, I noticed you had another domain name temporarily; any plans for that?
Quite the seamless transition for the end-user. Bravo! Ad multos annos!
Delighted your blog is well defended!
Long live this wonderful blog!!! May Our Blessed Mother pray for Fr. Zuhlsdorf and all who visit and comment on this site. +JMJ+
The dogs bark but the caravan moves on.
What a smooth transition! well done to Team Z technos. And the site loads faster too!
Good ping on the change,
Thank you and well done to Tech Wizards and Fr. Z.
Kerry: Ah, Galaxy Quest, good one.
MitisVis: Good point, WDTPRS Mission Control yesterday may have resembled the scene in “Airplane” where the control tower had to talk down a passenger plane to a safe landing.
Tech Wizard #1 (hair and tie askew, chain-smoking Lucky Strikes, sweat-stained scapular, tapping furiously on a laptop):
“Surely we can get this done before Compline.”
Tech Wizard #2 (hair and tie askew, chain-smoking Lucky Strikes, sweat-stained scapular, tapping furiously at a Cray supercomputer):
“Yes, we can. And don’t call me Shirley.”
Father,
Is the blog’s RSS feed address accurate? My feed validator says it is not!
RSS feed address: https://wdtprs.com/feed/
adorientemengine might be the greatest e-mail address ever.
Before the switch I was not able to get on the site without switching to a VPN. AND, the other day in my first attempt to send you an email, it would not let do so without my first getting off the VPN. Talk about a catch22.
Glad you finally go rid of the /blog
I don’t know if this was planned or not, but the new home loads a LOT faster when I go to it from within my work’s firewall. Great job!
