I wrote about Fr. Sirico’s new book HERE.
Fr. Sirico had a great interview on Stuart Varney’s show on Fox Business Network.

“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Well, some one needs to add a comment to this post so I will.
Stuart Varney is a faithful Catholic who was ridiculed at CNN, his previous employer, for refusing to wash off the ashes on his forehead on Ash Wednesday. That’s when he decided it was time to leave CNN for Fox News and Business Channel.
How genuine! Refreshing. Intelligent. Varney was surprised and delighted. And gracious enough to share his surprise. I suspect Fr. Sirico will be back soon.
I was very much taken by the professionalism of the interviewers who seemed to want to give Fr Sirico the chance to put his views.
If this had happened in the UK with the execrable BBC he would have aggressively attacked by interviewers who were too keen to put their own views.
I have always liked Varney, even before he left the laughable CNN. Fr. Sirico was excellent, and Varney clearly appreciated it. In this age of newspeak, doublespeak, and the much abused nuance, it is rare indeed to see any public figure speak clearly and without evasion.
I never thought I’d live long enough to see a priest write a book defending free markets or for that matter a majority of bishops taking on the party of death. The first gay president must have been the straw that broke the camels back. I hope enough Catholics have been scared straight by our latest experiment with marxism.
Good interview!
That was great! I hope they do invite him back.
