PHOTOS: Pontifical Mass for St. Joseph

Last night the Extraordinary Ordinary of Madison, His Excellency Most Reverend Robert C. Morlino, celebrated a Pontifical Mass at the Throne for the glorious Feast of St. Joseph, this year transferred because of the Sunday of Lent.

The Mass was sponsored by the Tridentine Mass Society of the Diocese of Madison (click and donate).

Here are some photos of the Mass.

In his sermon, Bp. Morlino concluded, “St. Joseph, pray for us!  Make real men of our men!”

Hopefully the next time I post photos of Pontifical Mass we will be using the new WHITE set!

    The Tait!

    The Diocese of Madison is very fortunate to have such an extraordinary Bishop.

  3. It was a beautiful Mass! I was able to make it out to Madison from St. Paul (a long drive for me), in order to celebrate the benevolent generosity of Bishop Morlino, as well as to support my fellow traditionalists in supporting [assisting at] the ancient wonder that is now called, in Latin, the Forma Extraordinaria. I was taken aback [as in: shocked] by the contagious joy with which Bishop Morlino gave his homily (about the good example of St. Joseph to fathers and even husbands): a joy that was evident in the way that Bishop Morlino celebrated the usus antiquior. God love you, Bishop Morlino! And may God love the many priests and servers who make these Masses possible.

    Dear Father Z, Have you been made a “clandestine domestic prelate” or does the office of MC in a pontifical Mass carry with it the right to such dress in situ?

  5. mschu528 says:

    @papaefidelis:

    The latter is correct. The Caeremoniale Episcoporum directs that a priest serving as MC at Pontifical liturgies wears a violet cassock (Lib. I, v, 4).
