Glad you’re having such delightful refreshments, Father — enjoy!
Keep the faith, Father. We appreciate all your hard work!
Are you reading a Patrick O’Brian book, Father?
It is always good to hear that you are thinking about cooking. We are praying for your intentions every day and have them on the parish prayer list.
My daughter-in–law makes a very different spaghetti sauce than I do. She made a big batch about a month ago and we froze four meals worth to have on hand. She and her other sons moved in with us about 3 months before the latest addition was due, because my son’s life in the Army isn’t conducive to being available for the late pregnancy through recovery period. Tonight, with a 6 day old baby in the house, we enjoyed one of those tremendously.
Nora: Thanks for the post about… life.
i wonder how an iced Two If By Tea would taste with a splash of sambuca?
Is it that “swell” coffee from Wyoming? Take care, Father. You are in my prayers.
For ultimate iced coffee–make it with coffee ice cubes.
Sambuca? Perhaps I spoke too rashly and with an all too narrow minded outlook the other day when I denounced the notion of iced coffee. This changes everything. I wonder how amaretto would work in iced coffee.
This morning I am enjoying a Carmel brew from the Mystic Monks.
Mmm… Anise….
Your sage looks great Father. How is it with Poultry?
@ Oddfisher,
What a great idea! Coffee ice cubes. Now only if there was a great decaf version of ice coffee because we are expecting our fourth blessing and it’s time for me to limit the wonderful Mystic Monk caffeinated coffee.
Coffee ice cubes? I’d be afraid that my heart rate would go up into the stratosphere! Too much caffeine!
Seriously, Father Z-I keep you in my prayers, that your ‘urgent intentions’ will have a successful conclusion. An extra Hail Mary at the end of my daily Rosary has your name on it (as well as the names of other priests-and one Bishop-who are ‘special and dear’ to me!).
Iced coffee is de-li-cious! Coffee ice cubes is a great way to make sure the drink doesn’t get watered down. You’re brave, Fr Z – my iced coffee (when I have it) is loaded up with cream! I haven’t been able to drink it black like that.
I have never used coffee ice cubes, but what a cool idea! I did find that if you make coffee at double strength and fill half your glass with the coffee and half with ice, the iced coffee won’t taste watered down. I like it real strong – with a little half-and-half mixed in. Yum!
I have been enjoying some iced coffee this afternoon while I re-read Fr. Elijah by Michael O’Brien. I first read it 11 years ago (about 4 years after release) and it was like spiritual reading for me. I truly was converted in some aspects of my life by that book. This time through IT IS EVEN BETTER and more prescient! Very, very insightful.
Ah – the joys of summer! Back to work a month from today. Sigh… God’s Will be done.
Still remembering you every day at Mass and Adoration, Father.
Our order from Amazon arrived yesterday and we began reading ‘Master and Commander’. We’re into chapter 3. The description of the sails and ship’s rigging is a little daunting, especially reading aloud, but we’re getting into the rhythm. Father, your special intentions are remembered.
