My own skills in the kitchen suddenly appear weak and pale.
Luke: I will pass that along to the staff of this excellent Chinese Restautant.
It looks like a foodstuff to which species 8472 would be highly allergic! Mmmm….
You are an evil man. Torturing us culinarily impaired types.
Regarding the platitude, I’m going to guess that the person who coined that saying never bothered to look around the room at all of the blank stares. How appropriate that our word platitude comes from the French word for “flat”. At least when the sayings are quotes from Confucius there is an element of truth in them. Like, “An oppressive government is more to be feared than a tiger.” If I had anything to do with it that line would show up in every fortune cookie from here to the next election. Maybe then we would see a change that we can live with.
Are those better-tasting than ‘platitude cookies’, Father Z? [No such thing.]
(BTW, thanks for responding to my email)
I can’t help to think that recounting the story of the ‘Constitution’ took some minutes off your life…. Peace, <] ; )
Great coincidence, we also had shanghai dumplings last night.
Is this in MN? Can you make a recommendation?
Can only be The Tea House….

I live on the Illinois side of St. Louis. We have one good Thai restaurant, one good Japanese restaurant, and one good Vietnamese restaurant and the rest of the pack is horribly homogeneous Chinese food. The closest good Chinese place is in one of the western suburbs of St. Louis. Sadly we’ve had a number of closings of good Chinese restaurants in the area, including the one which I discovered Chinese food and people in as a kid. (This lead to my Sinophillia.)
So far I have not found good “xiao long bao” in Miami. This looks good….I am hungry!!!!
