There are more than one “lavender mafia”

The brilliant Benjamin Wiker, author of the indispensable and highly entertaining (in an alarming way) 10 Books That Screwed Up the World: And 5 Others That Didn’t Help has penned a piece at the National Catholic Register (the non-evil NCR) about the various “lavender mafias”… yes, plural.

He writes:

Yes, you read that correctly. Lavender Mafias—the plural. The coercive network of homosexualization that has gained so much power within the Catholic Church hierarchy is just one of a number. To understand more fully the current crisis in the Church, we need to be aware of them all, since they all work together toward a homosexualization of the culture.

That there is such a thing as a Lavender Mafia in the Church used to be a rumor, but with the seedy revelations of the rise of Theodore McCarrick to the cardinalate, it’s now an established fact. Only the existence of a widespread network of protection and coercion in the highest reaches of the Church hierarchy could explain McCarrick’s ongoing power and prestige despite the fact that his homosexual proclivities were widely known among his fellow bishops and cardinals. Only such a network could make sense of McCarrick’s curial Teflon coating under Pope Francis’ watch that kept sanctions from sticking to him but not honors and advancements.

But if any doubt remains about the existence of a Lavender Mafia within the Church, the deeper investigation into the McCarrick affair called for by an increasing number of bishops and a flood of the laity, will reveal exactly how deep and wide such a network really is. One suspects that’s why there is so much stalling among the bishops, the cardinals and the Vatican.

Oh yes there is. Dr Wiker is right as rain. I got in trouble (I am in academia) for simply saying there are only two sexes. Thank God I am ready for retirement. I don’t know if I can stand it any longer.

  2. teomatteo says:

Not sure if my large Italian, Catholic family counts as an institution but i have a sister living with her girl friend for 30 years and their two children they raised together. Infiltration? Not sure. Just troubled. Troubled.

  3. Shonkin says:

I don’t watch daytime TV (or much TV at all), but my wife does. I can’t help noticing that many of the talk shows, cooking shows, etc. that she watches always have one very obvious (and commonly very flamboyant) male homosexual. It’s de rigeur, and it’s even more universal than the networks’ usual requirement of at least one black woman on every talk panel. The soap operas now have story arcs with gay male couples too. It’s all geared toward making the viewer see perversion as normal and acceptable.
Oh yeah, the TV networks have a lavender Mafia.

  4. Andrew says:

“Gay” characters on TV and in the movies are the most stable, level-headed individuals whose clear thinking helps resolve all conflicts that were caused by others. They have no doubts, no vices, they are compassionate, generous, amusing and wise. They often have some female “best friend” with whom they share their most intimate secrets which enables them to impart flawless guidance.

  5. teomatteo says:

Andrew, yes to all that. And… when portrayed historically they were abused, mocked and ridiculed by the unenlightened ‘straight’ jerks. The women with SSA are never portrayed on t.v as the burly girls’ gym teacher (that i remember from my days in school) Oh that would be mean. The women portrayed as those with SSA are always just stunningly beautiful.

  6. cwillia1 says:

There is one important difference between the Church and other institutions with a lavender mafia. In the Church this mafia includes men who are publicly and ostentatiously orthodox and privately active sodomites. There is an element of hypocrisy here. One thinks of Maciel Marcial of the Legionaries of Christ and Carlos Buela of the Institute of the Incarnate Word.

Many mafias — one single Heresy.

Other institutions that have been infiltrated by perversion?

British politics perhaps. There seem to be an higher proportion of homosexuals in politics than in wider society, and to suggest that homosexual acts are in any way wrong or sinful is regarded as subversive, even evil, and “homophobic”. I wonder if American politics has more than its fair share of homosexuals?

That the hierarchy of the Church has become infiltrated at the highest levels with sexual perverts is appalling and worrying. I suppose we need to regard these hypocritical, wicked prelates as Christ told his disciples to regard the scribes and Pharisees who “sit on Moses’ seat” and “preach, but do not practise”.

  10. james huffaker says:

No matter how you cut it, dress it up, try to conceal or normalize it, it is what it is, and the Bible and Church teachings are clear, Sodom and Gomorrah. We know what happened there.

  11. tamranthor says:

I think that, for at least a portion of the homosexual population, they truly believe they are no different that heterosexuals, except for that one trait. Unfortunately, that one perversion is the “leaven” that rises the whole loaf, so to speak.

While I do not profess to understand very much about Protestantism, I see my brother in law and his family happily attending a “church” that “celebrates diversity,” meaning they are so pleased at how they “welcome” our “gay brethren.” This is how we come to accept perversion: we mislabel it and then pass it off as some sort of innate good. I believe Bishop Morlino spoke about the misuse and redefining of language when he spoke about “gay marriage” in particular. It isn’t that the perversion magically goes away–it is relabeled and called something good, when it is rotten to the core.

I also doubt that most homosexuals go out of their way to pervert the rest of the culture or society, but in their little way, they cannot help it. Others, like McCarrick, actively consort with Satan to trash everyone and everything in their paths. Neither should be accepted or “celebrated” in any way.

  12. PostCatholic says:

I remember having perused a revised copy of a biography of Darwin that Prof Wikes wrote. The narrative that he constructed from his research stretched credulity, especially when he wrote about Darwin’s religious tenets. I consider him unreliable.

  13. ChrisP says:

Wiker is correct, but its nothing new that the lavender mafia exists in those other areas of society.
The glory in all this is that the Catholic Church may be the last to formally declare its “gay club”, but it could also be the first to deconstruct it.

Nature will take care of the Californian cess pit.

PostCatholic: please share your wisdom with us won’t you?

  14. un-ionized says:

cwillia1, I have known many of those you are talking about. I think that:

All homosexual priests need to out themselves and the lay people can decide whether they want to stay at their parishes. The lay people who are oh so proud of my former parish with the all male sanctuary with 70 altar boys need to wake up and get real.

There needs to be a major examination of conscience by every Catholic regarding sins of omission. Did I look the other way? Did I ignore a complaint? Did I tell someone to shut up about their own abuse? Did I take part in abuse by shunning and isolating someone? Am I getting special treatment for being a sycophant or for giving lots of money, being a lector or a Grand Knight?

  15. tho says:

Why do they forget about the scourge of Aids. Brought to the world by the practitioners of sodomy. Academia has given us half educated, brain dead liberals. And Hollywood’s gift to us is pornography, a vile form of voyeurism that warps the brain, and makes impossible the spiritual beauty of life.

  16. JustaSinner says:

No money from my pocket book until this is fixed. The Lavender Mafias can do without my dollars until they wither in the vine.

  17. robtbrown says:

Infiltration of Hollywood? It’s been a mess almost from the beginning. Do you know why Judy Garland became a drug addict? When she was c 15 yrs old, they fed her uppers so she could work longer.

Although there have been some stable people in Hollywood, e.g., Jimmy Stewart and Eleanor Powell, it has long been a sexual free for all with lots of drinking and drugs.

  18. Atra Dicenda, Rubra Agenda says:

I wonder about the Communists and Freemasons.

  19. Atra Dicenda, Rubra Agenda says:

Also, I invite anyone here to read, if they havent already, “The Homosexual Manifesto” penned by Michael Swift as a “satire” for a Gay Magazine in 1987. Its a couple of pages long. He called it “satire” or a “fantasy”, but in retrospect it was clearly a /gameplan/. And it worked. They have sodomized our sons. Just look at the priest abuse scandal. The rest of the “outrage fantasy” has equally come true. They are exposing the secret gays in our seminaries and high places. They are ready to destroy our “hetero-swine” lives and re-write history

  20. Kathleen10 says:

Education – top to bottom. I can verify, there are many more homosexuals in education now, and like all special interest groups, they hire and promote their own.

Music industry – which plays homosexual artists and in the case of Sirius music director admitted openly they were “making lots of money for the George Michael estate”. I mean, why does Sirius care so deeply about the gay lover of the now deceased George Michael? Why is it important for him to be a billionaire by residuals? But if you listen to Muzak in stores, you will find homosexual artists played relentlessly, in high rotation, and the same ones! This is by design.
Oh, they are Legion, this is true.
And I admire Prof. Wiker very much. He had what I thought was a terrific program on EWTN, “Saints and Scoundrels”, which brought “to life” saints and not-saints to have discussions and defend their positions. It was wonderfully done, and I found it really gave a flavor to the subjects and made them come alive. It was beautifully put together and he found a way to make it all reasonable and interesting. Not an easy thing to do.

  21. Adelle Cecilia says:

Tho said, “Why do they forget about the scourge of Aids.”
I was taken completely aback, the other evening, when a pill for “reducing the risk of HIV” was being advertised on TV. A bunch of homosexuals, including 1 trans “woman,” and 1 random black woman were the spokespeople.
    I couldn’t believe it…

  22. KateD says:

But why lavender? Couldn’t it be…Oh I don’t know, the Salmon Pink Mafia?

My favorite color as a younger person was purple….until I learned it’s the color of Satanism.

  23. Dismas says:

Hmmm…I will have to disagree. Each of those institutions (and more) are not infiltrated, as such would be a covert action with the intention of subverting the foundation of said institution. Rather, they are openly recruited, handed the keys of power, and are sent forth with cheers and acclamation.

  24. Akita says:

    Robtbrown,

I would hardly hold Jimmy Stewart up as a paragon of virtue. He had a very public, long term affair with Katharine Hepburn, did he not?

  25. JonPatrick says:

To be honest I don’t care much about the other Gay Mafias, I don’t watch TV other than baseball and I expect the world to be a cesspool. What bothers me is the way our Church has been subverted and there seems to be no way out as the corruption reaches to the top. The US bishops met with the Pope, shared a few jokes, and he essentially told them to go take a hike. So it doesn’t look like anything resembling reform is going to come from there. As I discussed with my wife last night, our only hope is that God intervenes and prayer to that effect may be our only recourse. I am redoubling my efforts in that area since there is nothing else I can do.

  26. un-ionized says:

KateD, purple is every little girl’s favorite color, and some adult girls, including me. Don’t let peripheral issues poison your likes and dislikes.

  27. Mother Seton says:

Akita, that wasn’t Jimmy Stewart. Spencer Tracy.

  28. PetersBarque says:

What is now known is the fact that damnable sins were committed for decades right under our noses by wicked wolves in sheep’s clothing, none of whom have yet to howl one syllable of remorse or sorrow or apology. Diabolically, the faithful have been so abandoned by Church leadership that the only place to turn to help eradicate this engorged, festering pustule is to secular authority, which paradoxically may usher in an even more dreadful sort of abomination of desolation.

  29. Dan says:

I think it is important to remember that this is not a Church issue. Sexual deviancy is an issue that has permeated our society so deeply that it has even penetrated deep into the heart of the Catholic church even into its highest ranks. One mafia that has been particularly successful is the homosexual mafia, but that is because Satan knows that by installing sexually disordered individuals into positions that should be the first line of defense again all manner or sexual disorder that they have no hope of overcoming it.
Sexual abuse is rampant in our society. Pornography is a mainstay of almost every single new television show released today. For many of those shows it is nothing for them to show a girl in a sexual light only to reveal later that she is a minor, of course by releasing it they seem to wash their hands of having presented her that way to begin with. Watching any media, ad, movie will lead you to believe that about 70% of the world is homosexual or wants to be one. Meanwhile children are sexualized and abused while all manor of people engage in any sexual fancy that comes to mind. Meanwhile the media and society cheers along saying “do it do it, it is normal”. Maybe it is normal for monkeys not capable of rational critical thought.

Priests, as you make your prayers of reparation I would ask that you remember that their are very many people who have been touched by sexual abuse and a very small percentage of them were the victims of priests. So while you need to make amends for those priests that would harm remember that their victims are far from the only victims of this crisis. It is a satanic movement that has put its stink on the entire world we live in.

    http://www.marcotosatti.com/2018/09/18/lagenda-per-la-chiesa-normalita-di-adulterio-omosessualita-sesso-libero-e-nozze-gay/

Marco Tosatti has a terrifying summary of the indications that the Youth Synod will be used as a vehicle to promote “the queering” of the Church’s teachings concerning sexual morality. Much of it I knew already but Mr. Tosatti puts it together in a way that makes what is going on particularly clear.

I believe Pope Francis’ silence concerning the Vigano’ testimony is culpable. But the silence of the faithful Cardinals and bishops concerning the ongoing effort to undermine Church teaching worries me more. Faithful Cardinals and bishops: Please, please speak up.
