Your Sunday Sermon Notes – 2nd Sunday of Lent 2023

Too many people today are without good, strong preaching, to the detriment of all. Share the good stuff.

It was the 2nd Sunday of Lent in the Novus Ordo and in the Vetus Ordo.

Was there a GOOD point made in the sermon you heard at your Sunday Mass of obligation?

Tell about attendance especially for the Traditional Latin Mass.  I hear that it is growing.  Of COURSE.

Any local changes or (hopefully good) news?

I have some thoughts about the Sunday reading HERE.

I went to the Latin mass at San Simeon Piccolo in Venice (FSSP). It was freezing inside (all that marble and no heating when nighttime temps are in the upper 30s). There were about 40 people, all wrapped in down or wool coats. Many wore hats and gloves through the Mass. I suspect that in summer, there are more foreign tourists. Right now, mostly locals. I couldn’t understand the sermon because it was in Italian. I was just so grateful to be able to attend a TLM.

My close friend sent me the homily from their Norvus Ordo parish. It was quite good and I would recommend all to hear it. There is hope out there for the future of diocesean parishes!
