Will you, with me, pray in a special way for the people of Japan? I think we would do well to offer additional penances for their intention.
Perhaps your Stations of the Cross tonight? Your Friday penance?

“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Thank you for the suggestion. I am leading the Stations of the Cross this evening and I will ask all who attend to offer their praying of the Stations for the people of Japan.
Pray for the intercession of my patron, St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, martyr of charity at Auschwitz and missionary to Japan a country that he loved and was fascinated by. He snubbed the local Feng Shui ‘experts’ and built his mission on the ‘wrong’ side of the mountain at Hiroshima. Years later it was spared the atomic bomb effects by that mountain. He is certainly someone to call out to to intercede against any unthinkable nuclear disaster in the plants there, God forbid!
A rosary tonight for the suffering of Japan.
St Maximilian Kolbe pray for the country you so loved.
Ave Maria, Gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus et benedictus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.
Done. Lord have mercy!
Stations of the Cross offered. Thank you for the post and the prayer request.
I will offer my Rosary tonight, as I did not see this before Stations (can you offer something retroactively?).
Our Lady of Akita, pray for the people of Japan, especially for those who have died in this disaster.
Done. Thanks for reminding us about the Stations!
An Our Father, a Glory Be and a Hail Mary.
I said Holy Mass with the intention for those who suffered in any way from the earthquake in Japan.
I am offering my novena to Saint Joseph for all who have died and all who lost home and power.
A train packed full was swept away without a trace, at 3 p.m. on the first Friday of Lent – may they go with God.
Of Course. I will offer my Communion up for them today.
May God bless them
Catherine
When I go to my Holy Hour tonight at our Adoration Chapel, I’ll write something in the intention book that’s kept there.
All you holy Martyrs who died for the Faith there, please pray for Japan.
St. Maxmilian Kolbe, please do the same.
Holy Martyrs of Japan, intercede for the Japanese people!
I offer up my current suffering for the people of Japan.
Stations of the Cross and a Rosary yesterday, and a Rosary tonight.
