60 hours of Eucharistic adoration

Join us in marking the 60th anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI’s priesthood with 60 hours of Eucharistic adoration at The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity.

Archbishop John Nienstedt invites Catholics of the archdiocese to mark Pope Benedict XVI’s 60th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood with 60 hours of Eucharistic adoration, with prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father, an increase in vocations and priestly sanctity.  Beginning with a solemn opening liturgy with Archbishop Nienstedt on June 28 at 7:00 pm, St. Mary’s Chapel at the seminary will be open for 60 hours for all who wish to come for prayer.  Click HERE to read more about the event and see the full schedule.

Please consider signing up for an hour of adoration by calling the seminary at 651-962-5050 or sending an email.

The Saint Paul Seminary is located at 2260 Summit Avenue, St. Paul 55105.  Parking is available in all lots near the seminary.

Bishop Burbidge of Raleigh has recommended this to the parishes under his care.

    From the diocesan website:
The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge is asking Pastors and Pastoral Administrators in the Diocese to lead their faithful in offering 60 hours of Eucharistic Adoration this month. In a letter to parish leadership, Bishop Burbidge notes that the celebration of the Solemnity of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is on June 29, which is the day Pope Benedict XVI will mark his 60th anniversary of ordination to the Priesthood.
“As a spiritual observance of this important priestly anniversary and with the request of His Eminence, Maura Cardinal Piacenza, Prefect for the Congregation for Eucharistic Adoration, I ask that you lead the faithful of your parish in offering 60 hours of Eucharistic Adoration throughout this month,” the Bishop wrote. “He said the Adoration would be for “the sanctification of the clergy throughout the world and to petition from Our Lord, the gift of new and holy priestly vocations.” Bishop Burbidge suggested the hours culminate on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, July 1, 2011, which is observed as World Day of Prayer for Priests.
“It is my hope that this time of Diocesan prayer before Our Lord may not only bear many spiritual graces to move the hearts of young men among us to discern a priestly vocation,” Bishop Burbidge said, “but that this may also be a time of greater union of the faithful with the One Who is the real center of our lives and the one from Whom comes forth every missionary and pastoral effort in our Church.”
