We have always known it would be this way, of course.
Obama’s Final Word: Catholics Must Buy/Provide Coverage for Abortion Drugs
(CNSNews.com) – The Department of Health and Human Services today released the final text of the final adjustments to the Obamacare regulation that requires virtually all health-care plans to provide cost-free coverage for sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs.
Catholics and Evangelical Christians have objected to the regulation, arguing that it violates their First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion. The Catholic Church teaches that sterilization, contraception and abortion are all intrinsically immoral. Evangelical Christians believe that abortion takes an innocent human life and is thus wrong.
The final regulation issued today provides no accommodations at all for individual Catholics and other Christians who morally object to the mandate. It also makes no accommodations for private for-profit employers who morally object to the mandate.
Catholic and other Christian individuals in the United States will now be forced by the Obama administration to buy insurance coverage that pays for sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs–whether they want that coverage or not and even though it forces them to act against their faith.
Not Diocletian Father. Diocletian would have just had us all lined up against a wall and shot. This is much more insidious and much more the work of the enemy of mankind. It is designed to cause wavering and confusion and division and unfortunately will likely do just that. Prayer, prayer, and more prayer. And those sisters Father mentioned in his previous post who suffer penance in reparation for our sins could now probably use all the support we can give them.
The federal courts , via the RFRA statute, may provide relief. There is reason for optimism. Hobby Lobby just won a temporary injunction. All of this litigation is likely headed to the US Supreme Court.
Having the case go to the Supreme Court is little cause for hope.
The priest at my parish said that the parish school will be closed if this edict actually comes to be enforced.
When the mayor of San Francisco doesn’t like a law, he disregards it, chanting “whether you like it or not”.
This mayor then runs for Lieutenant Governor, and is elected.
When the Attorney General of California doesn’t like a constitutional amendment, he refuses to defend it, and is rewarded with a Supreme Court decision which declares, in effect, that if government officers won’t defend the law, no one has the right to do so.
That attorney general is now governor of the state.
When private citizens behave this way, we call it Civil Disobedience, and the persons who engage in it are punished, at some level.
On the other hand, “I’m personally opposed, but abortion is the law of the land” is, apparently, an absolute justification for increasing funding for abortion, contraception, and such things, and also for making no attempt to limit the number of abortions……
At this point, haven’t we descended to the level of Tweedledum and Tweedledee?
Is there some purpose in advancing rational, reasonable, legal and moral arguments, when the modus operandi is to disregard anything that gets in the way of the radical disintegration of society and the re-formation of whatever is left along the lines of Social Darwinism? (the strong survive; the weak serve the strong; everyone else becomes fodder). I don’t mean that resistance is futile, but that resistance must take some form other than argument.

I agree. We have been making logical, convincing arguments about these issues for decades and it simply doesnt matter. It doesnt matter if we’re right, it doesnt even matter if we can logically demonstrate that we’re right, the powers that be simply dont care. Continuing to make the same arguments, even though the arguments are correct, is a waste of time. When people choose to ignore the Truth, you cant win them over with any argument, no matter how convincing. I think we need action in the form of peaceful civil disobedience to this, because what other choice have we got?
The Mennonites were kicked out of Germany for refusing to teach the Third Reich in their classrooms (From Willow Creek to Sacred Heart, by Chris Shaw, p. 43). To which country can we go in today’s world?
But….be of good cheer–Jesus has overcome the world! We need to remember this.
Sometimes I think Obama will be our Diocletian, but then I comfort myself with the thought that just 10 years after Diocletian came Constantine the Great.
Did any of us REALLY expect any other final decision? Holy Mary, pray for us!
Ball’s in the Catholic Clergy’s court now. Will the bishops…
a) Refuse to kotow. Order Catholic Hospitals not to comply and accept whatever consequences and fallout occurs in the hopes that the public pressure they endure will work in their favor to highlight the tyranny of the Obamaoist party.
b) Take they say, “well it’s the law so we’ll comply until the Supreme Court comes to our rescue. We can always count on thsoe guys! Maybe they’ll even make a ruling on our case within the next decade, but until then contraceptives and abortificaents are available to all!”
c) Just wave their hands say “What can we do?” and comply.
My guess is a little of b & c. Some hospitals filled with dissidents will refuse to go along and actually champion it. The bishops will be split. And by the tmes the Supreme Court even bothers to take up the case with b, it will be argued that for years while deliberating that Catholic hospitals have freely coplied without any noticable complaints or problems so why should they be lifted now? The courts might actually rule against the Church that it is for the public good that they must be forced to comply for the sake of the poor of course.
The best course of action is option a while also challenging Obama through the courts. Do NOT Comply! DISOBEY EVIL!
Did any of us REALLY expect any other final decision?

For which they, and others like them should have been impeached forthwith, every damn one of them.
Now is the time, civil disobedience, no complying with unjust laws…and let the chips fall where they may….Kyrie elesion
The article at the top says that “virtually all…” so does that mean that there is one insurance policy somewhere in the nation that is exempt from the HHS mandate? If so, we need to find it.
Also, are HSA’s still legal and available? If so, what would prevent anyone from not purchasing insurance/not accepting it from their employer and paying the Obamacare penalty (oops, I mean “tax”)? The HSA could be used to fund well visits and such and many doctors (at least here in New England) are readily accepting cash payments that are a fraction of the cost of an office visit that goes through insurance. Just ask your internist and pediatrician, I think you’ll be surprised. For example, my dad’s doctor has to charge $300 for an office visit when his patient has insurance because he has to pay someone to work in his office whose only job is to deal with insurance company reimbursements day in and day out. If you have an HSA and pay cash, that same office visit is $75 bucks. Same for my kids’ pediatrician. $350 for an insurance-covered office visit. Got cash? Same doctor, same office visit will only cost you $50 for a sick visit and $75 for a well check-up. And these rates are in the Northeast. It might be even more reasonably priced in the mid-west or deep south if you live in any of those places.
So, use your HSA (or start your own health care account at your bank, like your own, private health care “Christmas club” account) and use that for the routine stuff. And then for the big stuff, I’m pretty sure that you can still purchase a catastropic care-only policy in the individual market(which is usually cheaper than the all-inclusive policies).

Sister Lucia of Fatima said “When a sufficient number have prayed.” Apparently
we do not have the sufficient number yet. I know I have not prayed nearly enough. Nor done enough penance and sacrifice as one person to help get the job done.
If all Catholic organizations with full time employees…educational, health related, and charitable…as well as Catholic businesses…were to operate with part-time employees only…in effect immediately…couldn’t/wouldn’t that help the situation…at least temporarily? In other words wouldn’t part time employment keep the Catholic organization conscience while not, at the same time, being non-compliant with Obamacare? I’m just askin’.
Thanks, Orthodox Chick. And didn’t we have the name of the Chiropractor in Arizona a few months ago who was developing an Amish like plan…that would be acceptable to Obamacare? I don’t remember the name of the plan nor the Chiropractor’s name. Perhaps someone here does remember.
For what it is worth, I suspect the Emperor Julian the Apostate would be a better example/parallel case to the actions of the present Administration than Emperor Diocletian.
This is only he tip of the iceberg. The next phase is already waiting in the wings.
“On Monday, June 24, 2013, the U.S. Senate passed a cloture motion (which ends debate) on the Schumer-Corker-Hoeven Amendment to the Gang of Eight’s horrifying illegal alien amnesty bill – mislabeled “immigration reform…”
“In a conference call Monday evening, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said that most people don’t realize this bill operates in tandem with Obamacare and amounts to de facto affirmative action for illegals. He said that Obamacare will raise the cost of American citizen or legal immigrant workers by roughly $3,000, but the amnesty bill exempts illegals . This creates an incentive to fire legitimate employees or reduce them to part-time status and replace them with illegals…”

We must pray, fast, mortify AND call our senators DAILY.
Queen of The Most Holy Rosary pray for us!
Don’t comply, don’t shut down, don’t pay the fine.
Bishops, take the heat. Go to prison if necessary.
Easy for me to say. But we need martyrs.
May God give us all strength and perseverance.
I cant say I am surprised.
Amen! Let us pray for this!
