“He [Satan] will set up a counter-Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. In desperate need for God, whom he nevertheless refuses to adore, modern man in his loneliness and frustration will hunger more and more for membership in a community that will give him enlargement of purpose, but at the cost of losing himself in some vague collectivity.”
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops.”

That way I have steady income I can plan on, and you wind up regularly on my list of benefactors for whom I pray and for whom I periodically say Holy Mass.

"But if, in any layman who is indeed imbued with literature, ignorance of the Latin language, which we can truly call the 'catholic' language, indicates a certain sluggishness in his love toward the Church, how much more fitting it is that each and every cleric should be adequately practiced and skilled in that language!" - Pius XI
"Let us realize that this remark of Cicero (Brutus 37, 140) can be in a certain way referred to [young lay people]: 'It is not so much a matter of distinction to know Latin as it is disgraceful not to know it.'" - St. John Paul II
Grant unto thy Church, we beseech Thee, O merciful God, that She, being gathered together by the Holy Ghost, may be in no wise troubled by attack from her foes. O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified, mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people making supplication unto Thee, and turn away the scourges of Thine anger which we deserve for our sins. Almighty and Everlasting God, in whose Hand are the power and the government of every realm: look down upon and help the Christian people that the heathen nations who trust in the fierceness of their own might may be crushed by the power of thine Arm. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. R. Amen.

Pingback: 23 March “Stand Up for Religious Liberty” rallies | Koinonia
Thank you for the info. I plan to participate. I hope there will be a decent turnout. I’ve been participating in the 40 days for life, and the supports, from what I see, is pitiful. Where are the Catholics? Are we waiting till our necks are firmly in the nook?
I plan on going. I’m just trying to decide whether it’s prudent to bring the kids along.
There are a few rallies in New York. Closest seems to be in Norwich, in the southern part of the state.
I hope that I can go to that one.
I first spotted this at the Catholic Answers Forums site.
I hope and pray that there will be a lot of people at these rallies! We have to stand up for our liberties!
I want to go. I’m planning to go. But I can only do so with the 2yo and 5yo in tow.
Do folks think this will mostly be a peaceful, pro-religious-freedom crowd, or is there some likelihood of OWS/union/thug activities taking place? I will be going to San Fran. I’m really torn– I can’t endanger my little guys, but I think it’s very important to take a stand.
Can’t use your sharing buttons. Need one for “any email.”
We’ll be Standing Up in San Diego!
Margaret, I hope you’re able to bring your little ones! Our flyers specifically mention encouraging youth to attend, and the rallies are being billed as family friendly, but I’m sure you’re the best judge of your local political climate. I’ll be attending with children ages 9, 5, 3, and 9-months.
I’d love to attend the Murrieta, CA rally (actually being held at a location in Temecula’s Old Town) but I will be traveling to Arizona on that day.
All right! It’s convenient, and I can just skip over at lunch time. Won’t even have to take the bus.
I wonder if it’s even worth asking the rector of the parish that is less than 1/2 block from the site if he would consider a procession or something along those lines.
It’s the only “Rainbow Friendly Parish” in Georgia . . . so I doubt it.

About a week or so ago I noticed that the rally in St. Louis had been canceled. I also note that there is a Midwestern Occupy gathering/conference/whatever going on in St. Louis as we speak. Can’t help but wonder, was that rally canceled to avoid possible confrontation with the Occupy crowd?
I’ve been to a number of rallies. The ones that can be dicey are those that include same-sex issues, because the same-sex people can get really ugly. They provoke confrontation and are often very vulgar. No place for children.
The rallies for this type of issue (religious freedom) tend to be fine, but, there’s always that chance…of course anything can happen anywhere….I myself would probably not bring babies, too boring for them, and why take a chance. They will start crying as soon as the speaker comes to the podium. Older children yes, to this one.
If you are going as a family, good. (having a man along) Park as close as you can and get in with other families as well. With this issue there will probably not be “opponents”, unless you count the politicians who will be inside State Houses etc., muttering about what’s outside, if they’re Democrats.
Going to rallies feels GREAT. It warms the heart to feel one is defending their religious freedom. My husband once looked at me during a rally and said “I’ve never seen you so happy”. To defend your faith feels EXHILIRATING.
Have fun everybody! Bring a sign (on a stick is best) a hat, some water and a snack, and enjoy!
