QUAERITUR: A good place to buy diaconal stoles

From a seminarian:

As a seminarian who will be ordained to the transitional diaconate here shortly, I was wondering if you or your readers could point me to a place to acquire reasonable, well made, appropriate appearing Deacon stoles. Most of the parishes in my diocese where I could be sent for assignment lack these, and I would like to buy a set of my own which I could then allow another deacon to use or give to another seminarian who would be a transitional deacon later.

First, I would consider getting priestly preaching stoles which you could with a pair of connected clips use to the ends at your side. If you are going to be a transitional deacon, why load up with lots of diaconal things?

That said, readers?

Your Sunday Sermons

Was there a good, instructive, inspiring, useful, helpful, memorable, edifying, profound point from the sermon you heard at Mass for your Sunday precept?

Spectacular CME (Coronal Mass Ejection)

One of these days!

From Spaceweather:

MAGNIFICENT ERUPTION:  On August 31st, a magnetic filament on the sun erupted in spectacular fashion, producing a long-duration solar flare, a coronal mass ejection (CME) and one of the most beautiful movies of an explosion ever recorded by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory.  The CME propelled by the blast might deliver a glancing blow to Earth’s magnetic field in the days ahead.

The explosion hurled a CME away from the sun traveling faster than 500 km/s (1.1 million mph). The cloud, shown here, is not heading directly toward Earth, but it could deliver a glancing blow to our planet’s magnetic field on or about September 3rd. This date is preliminary and may be changed in response to more data from coronagraphs on the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). Stay tuned.

Blue Moon Followup

I went for a walk this morning and was able to get a last look at this year’s Blue Moon.

Other things, indeed people, around here are blue as well.   The tornado cleanup continues.  I am still reflecting on how very close a call this was.  The damage filed starts two houses away.

QUAERITUR: Bilingual TLM hand missals in Latin and Spanish

From a reader:

I have a friend (she is learning to speak English) that attends our Tridentine Mass and needs a Complete Latin/Spanish Missal of the 1962 Mass. I want to buy one for her and I have been looking online, but I cannot find one. I cannot read Spanish and Google Translate is less than helpful. If you or someone that you know is fluent in Spanish, if a commenter can find one online could they post the link so that I can buy one for her? Our parish offers the little paperback ones for the Ordinary of the Mass but they do not have the readings or the Propers of the Mass. All I could find are the complete Latin/Spanish Missals for the Novus Ordo Mass. If they are not yet printing the complete Missals for the 1962 Mass in Spanish that is a crime, and whoever publishes one will corner the market!

I’ll leave this to you readers.

RECENT POSTS and THANKS

Some recent posts as they scroll along off the front page.

But first:

Your Urgent Prayer Requests

And now….

Though there hasn’t been much movement since the last time I posted thanks to benefactors, I again want to thank everyone who has sent anything from my wishlist or who has made a donation using the donation button.  Also, thanks to everyone who has helped the Wyoming Carmelites by buying Mystic Monk Coffee using my link (and therefore also helping me) and who have used my Amazon links and my search box on the side bar.  Each use of those links really adds up over the period of a month and is very important for me.  Thanks a million.  I remember my benefactors in prayer and regularly at Mass, which is my duty and pleasure.
