Going to town

Heading into central London.

I hope I don’t start a riot!

Meanwhile…

[CUE MUSIC]

When you have had a tough day of looking at paintings by Giotto and that lot and wondering if you are going to find someone with whom you might enjoy a pint, why not plan to refresh your coffee supply with Mystic Monk Coffee!

Those Italian Renaissance painters, with those characteristic almond-shaped eyes are sure to remind you that those mystic monks out there in Wyoming are just waiting for you to order some of those flavored coffees … which women seem to like more than men for reasons that are obvious.

Not that the mystic monks have an ALMOND flavored coffee mind you… and that might be where that segue didn’t quite work… but… theeeeeey… have…. lemme see…. ah!  Hazelnut! Which is just as good as almond, right?

Not only that, I received a note from them that they have revived for the season a blend they call… wait for it…

Jingle Bell Java!

Get it?

The description: “Limited time! Christmas spices with white chocolate and bourbon make up this delicious treat.”

Bourbon is so much more than just a great breakfast drink.

So, refresh your supply today or get some for the first time!

It’s swell!

    I predict a liturgical riot!!!

  2. ipadre says:

I’m watching Fox News and see the riots in London. Is someone in a black overcoat and matching hat holding a sign “Reform of the Reform Now!”

  3. Supertradmum says:

Just bring some Mystic Monk Coffee with you. The British cannot resist someone with excellent taste.

  4. terryprest says:

You will keep away from Millbank Tower, wont you ? There`s enough rioting there already apparently

  5. irishgirl says:

Why is there rioting in London, Father Z?
Be careful-we don’t want you to get hurt!
I remember seeing one ‘demo’ [that's 'demonstration'] in London during one of my trips over there. It was going through Trafalgar Square on a gloomy day-I think it even rained a bit. I remember the ‘bobbies’ directing me to take an alternate route. I turned off Whitehall and went down a side street to the River Thames. I forgot what the ‘demo’ was about.

  6. Charivari Rob says:

Auditioning for the next series of Sherlock?

  7. xavier217 says:

Watch out for the no-go zones!

  8. Andrew says:

Are you carrying the “anglicanorum coetibus” sign?

  9. irishgirl says:

Just went on the BBC website-the demonstration is about university tuition increases and funding cuts. There’s a group of protesters occupying the Conservative Party headquarters in Whitehall.
    What a mess….

  10. wanda says:

Now Father, contain yourself! Don’t climb up on anything with your bull horn shouting things like, Pope B16 – Pope of Chrisitan Unity, ‘anglicanorum coetibus’ and ‘reform of the reform, when do we want it? Now!

    Prayers for your safe travels.

  11. People seem to be fairly calm where I am… at the moment.

If only I had someone to meet for a pint when the National Gallery closes.

  12. Supertradmum says:

Why do students feel that 15,000 usd is high per year? Not all people do not need to go to college, and anarchists have taken over the demonstrations. The media is so pro-socialist. I think that the violence is based on pure selfishness, and the generation who grew up with entitlement. The media does not seem to understand that violence is always bad, especially when vandalism occurs. The liberal media does not seem to understand the very generation they created through television and the Internet.

  13. Genna says:

Do pop into the V&A while you’re in the Big Smoke. You can have great fun muttering “Ours, ours” as you stroll through the exhibits.

  14. wanda says:

It’s not calm on fox news. There have been 11 injuries, including 2 policmen. There is property damage and students (along with others bused in from surrounding areas, hmm..) have occupied the building. Dangerous.

  15. sawdustmick says:

Can’t do tonight but MAY be able to make tomorrow ?

  16. perhaps tomorrow indeed!

  17. Liz says:

Golly, Father, I will say a Hail Mary and a prayer to your guardian angel for your safety. Please be careful.

  18. Serious note: Be safe, will be praying for you.
Less-serious note: Since when do you *not* start riots? I’ve seen these comment boards… ;-)

  19. And I leave the Gallery and there is no pint handed to me as I walk out the door. To the Tube, then.

  20. St. Louis IX says:

    Father Z
Have you ever been to Tyburn to walk in the footsteps of our English Martyrs? You shall be a good witness to the Faith Father.
With your permission I am going to mention some folks across the pond doing a good work.
Mary`s Dowry Productions http://www.marysdowryproduction.org They are making films on the Catholic Recusants and Martyrs and Saints in England.
    Father Z….God`s Speed

  21. anamaria says:

Father, next time you´re in Europe, why not considering “jumping” to beautiful sunny southern Spain?? I promise that pints wont be a problem, neither paella, nor Cardenal Mendoza… plus, I bet some crazy “priests” from some “crazy” Society will be pleased to meet you…

  22. irishgirl says:

I know I’ve already posted–but please be careful while you’re over there, Father Z! Things can get out of control very quickly when there are a lot of people in one place.
I hope that the standoff at the Tories’ HQ will be peacefully settled.

  23. asophist says:

Rioters aren’t the only hazzard on the streets of central London.
Don’t fall into any of holes the Crossrail project is leaving all over the place!

  24. boko fittleworth says:

    WDTPRS riot/ I wanna riot/ WDTPRS riot/ A riot of my own

Oh, I can belive I just typed that. I just can’t believe it was a propos.
