The Presidential, Syrian analogy I’ve been looking for!

American Catholic got it just right.

Obama is Charlie Brown to Putin’s Lucy

Even Linus’s first line is on target for Pres. Obama’s Syrian “red line”: Never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker.

Who would have thought that a year into the second term we would be able to call a former KGB Colonel the Leader of the Free World? What surprises await us in his third term?

  1. James Joseph says:

A year or so ago, I saw an attaché of Mr. Putin call Mr. Obama a murderer saying something along the lines of, “You cannot just go around the world assassinating leaders of countries you do not like. That is murder. They deserve deference even if you do not like them, not murder.”

It hints of the Order of Things. God hates revolution.

Sadly Father, I truly expect that we will find out.

    America elected Stalin.
    Twice.
    And Stalinists don’t just leave.

  4. Joe in Canada says:

I dunno. I always feel sorry for Charlie Brown.

  5. I still think that we should make him king. It would be an “important” ceremonial position where he could constantly engage the media and his adoring supporters. He doesn’t really want to be president anyway so someone competent could then have that role. Win-win.

We’ve survived a 5-star general, CIA director, and a submarine XO (barely). A KGB colonel won’t be all that bad. What frightens me is a former junior US senator.

  7. Lin says:

A third term!!! Heaven forbid!!! All priests, religious, and practicing Christians will have to go underground.

    Don’t forget the actor :)
