About this blog…
“This blog is like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” – Fr. Z

In view of the rapidly changing challenges I now face, I would like to add more $10/month subscribers. Will you please help?

QUAERITUR: I found a Host at my mother’s house. Wherein Fr. Z rants a little.
From a reader: While visiting my parents’ home (they are not Catholic; I am a convert), I was invited up to look at something on Mom’s prayer table. I forget what it was … but out of the corner of … Read More

Rail by rail!
One for the Brick by Brick file. I had a note from a friend in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, where the great Bishop Robert Finn presides. At St. Andrew the Apostle on the north side of KC, Fr. … Read More
QUAERITUR: People who walk away with Hosts
From a reader: twice in a month I have seen two examples of people receiving the Body of Christ but not consuming it in my diocese. Thankfully both Priests were strict in how they dealt with this. In the first … Read More
Card. O’Malley to boycott Boston College when they honor pro-abortion Irish PM
I wrote HERE about Jesuit-run Boston College’s plan to have anti-Catholic catholic, pro-abortion Prime Minister of Ireland Enda Kenny speak at commencement and then confer on him an honor. Outrageous. Shades of Notre Shame. Now I read at the site of … Read More
Another view of Pope Francis’ correction of women religious
It is hardly a surprise that bloggers and Catholic media outlets are not writing in greater detail about what Pope Francis told the international sisters group the other day. Given that the American sisters over there were wowed by the … Read More
National Schismatic Reporter starts to turn on the Pope – Francis and the LCWR
Here is something that I never thought I would write. Fr. Z kudos to Jamie Manson of the National Schismatic Reporter. One of Fishwrap‘s headliners, a darling of LCWR, the openly-lesbian, Margaret Farley-mentored Jamie Manson has sobered up about Pope … Read More
QUAERITUR: Ember Days during Octave of Pentecost… penitential?

“feeeelings… wo wo wo feeeeeeeelings….”
It took them a few hours to get organized, but Fishwrap (aka National Schismatic Reporter), in its capacity of LCWR spin surrogate, has started to twist Pope Francis’s address to the UISG (HERE) into something that it is not. Here … Read More
