An old reliquary given to me long ago with a sliver of the Cross of Our Lord.

“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Don’t know if this was “kosher” but I just kissed the photo of it on my iPhone. At least He knows what I mean . . . .
Thank you for sharing this. What a wonderful feast today is!
My friend had a similar reliquary. still does actually. beautiful.
Wow. Just. Wow.
You are soooo lucky to have this, Father Z!
Happy ‘Holy Cross Day’!
How blessed you are to have that, Father.
Ditto VivaLaMezzo!
Stupid Question: How, exactly, does one suppose or know that it is a real piece of THE cross?
I would think, in general, that relics of any sort would be ripe terrain for the usual fraudsters.
Sincere veneration, even if mistaken, is still vituous I’m sure, so perhaps nothing really turns on the answer. I’ve just always wondered….
You are blessed indeed to have such a precious relic Father.
